Fine, I'll buy Tunic! Meanwhile, I have a few recommendations for you. Mortal Sin - solo dev first person action roguelike game with an absolutely awesome art style and very fun combat. On paper it's a very simple game but I find the mix of classes, weapons and passive skills on top of the combat system that encourages animation canceling and different types of combos to be very addictive. Against the Storm - Roguelike citybuilder and one of the few games with roguelike elements where it feels justified in being a roguelike. Each session is 1-2 hours and each run does really feel different as there are many ways to achieve victory in each scenario. I know citybuilders aren't most people's cup of tea (I don't really like them myself) but this game is really well done. Signalis - if you enjoyed Resident Evil 1 or Silent Hill then you'll likely love this. One of my favorite indie games of all time. If survival horror is something you like just buy it and go in blind.

I wholly reccommend the tactical vehicle-based shooter "Brigador" a game about a company who wants a planet back after the population rebelled so they pay brigadors (you) to blow up strategic targets you also get paid for anything you destroy ...including civilans there's also alot of lore in paragraphs about the various weapons, warcrimes, and factions you deal with

I love these videos so much because I also enjoy finding new games to play. My only recommendation for now is a game called SPOOKWARE, a silly little game about skeletons with fast paced minigames and charming writing. It's super enjoyable to play and I think everyone should play it :D

Gotta say, Omega Strikers is a blast. I'm not much of a gamer but the fact that every set is as intense as it is on a spam of 15 minutes makes it, to me, exhilarating, not exhausting. But this is a matter of personal preference, and I think you are totally valid for your's. The only point I hard disagree with is saying that the buffs can't be felt throughout the match. You blink and suddenly Estelle has double the range on her primary and Era's special OHKOs

I would give a long and well thought out reason as to why these indie games are good, but apparently KZitem considers any and all in-depth descriptions of a piece of media as spam so I'll just say that I'd bet my life on the quality of these 3 indie games along with an honourable mention, each of varying levels of popularity. 1. Bug Fables. RPG that's a spiritual successor to the first 2 Paper Mario games. Good story, visual direction, combat, and level progression. 3.5K reviews on Steam 2. Furi. Action/bullet-hell dueling boss rush game with a godlike electronic OST. Great melee and ranged combat, nice cell-shaded art, and fun storytelling. 8.3K reviews on Steam 3. OneShot. Meta story/puzzle RPGM game and one of my favourite games ever played. Fascinating 4th wall breaking puzzles and story, insanely loveable main character, similar one time experience as Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn. 30k reviews on Steam. Honourable Mention. Bad End Theater. Extremely short multiple ending choose-your-own-adventure game with endearing pixel art and characters. Very concise overarching story and sweet ending theme. 4K reviews on Steam.

Yakko you GOTTA try Jet Lancer if you haven’t yet! It’s a cool and tragically obscure airplane dogfighting game in the style of Luftrausers, but with a focus on tighter combat and a charming story/cast.

This is the first of this series of videos I've seen by you and unlike similar videos I've seen before where the recommendations often feel too short and general, your description of each game was so in depth and engaging that by the time the montage of game clips finished for each game, I forgot I was even watching a video about multiple games

your editing is amazing, the modding in bassfishing music part got me dying lol. need to say metal hellsingers approach of "instead of programming music to adapt to gameplay, the player now needs to adapt to the music" is very neat and a cool combination of genres if that makes any sense.

Tunic was an absolute gem among gems. While I didn't personally played it, me and my friend spent hours on discord trying to figure where to go and what to do, making the best we could do with the pages we had found and it was a blast. Other than being salty that stray literally robbed this game at the TGA, I just want to point out that the collector's edition for the switch/PS4 version is one of the coolest and most satisfying I've ever seen. And all of that for just 45 dollars

Tunic is unique and I love what they were trying to do truly. Many good moments and a couple unsettling ones like a miasma spider running off in the islands area and the obelisk factory. Finding pages for all kinds of secrets and foreshadowing events in the game is nice to. That being said, the combat is liquid shit and every time I boot up the game to try and beat the cathedral’s gauntlet to continue the game, I’m reminded how terrible it feels.

I dont know if you have covered Katana Zero before, but it is one of my favorite indy games. Its a 2d sidescroller action game where you play as a katanaweilding, bathrobe wearing, time manipulating assasin in a futuristic dystopia. If you havnt, you should give it a try, its the first game I 100%, which required me beating the insanely challenging hard mode and speedrunning the game, which was my very first speedrun.

Hello yakko, i recomend I recommend you play "Bug Fables". It is a paper Mario type rpg game about 3 bugs who go on an adventure sent by the ant queen. The game has a simple but charming which has its plot twists, quite catchy music, very charismatic characters and quite engaging gameplay. It's from a few years ago, around 2018 but it quickly became one of my favorite indies.

in the next episode of this series i want to see fury unleashed probably the most notable mechanic from that game is a combo system that works pretty similarly to pizza tower's BUT since score isn't really a thing beyond meta-progression elements it instead gives you benefits in-level like temporary combo shields that protect you from a single hit (or extend your combo if you have the upgrade for it) it's also a little old though so beware

I'm so glad you mentioned tunic, it's one of my favorite games of all time and I can't appreciate it enough, i wish everyone knew about it It's a game that gives you a childlike joy like no other I wish I could erase my memory and play it again, but that's just an experience I'll never have again sadly I urge everyone to go play it and if difficulty is an issue you can basically just disable damage entirely and the game will still be enjoyable, ITS THAT GOOD

My suggest is "Your Only Move Is Hustle". It's a fighting game, like street fighter, except its turn based. Anytime either or both players can input a move, they can click on the move they want to execute, add in any variables like attack direction, and lockin their choice, then the game plays out until a player can make a choice again.

Really enjoyed the video! In terms of indie game recommendations, Awesomenauts is my go to recommendation for competitive indie games. It’s a platform fighter moba that’s been out for over 10 years now with music by sonic picnic (same team behind speedrunners ost). The art style is like playing in a cartoon from the 80s and the creativity of its character design and world building along with the characters just all feeling super fun to play keep me coming back to it even thought the community isn’t as large as it once was.

On the off chance that anyone needed the extra push and reads this: Tunic was one of the most incredible experiences I've had with a game. It really is magical and the constant discovery & lightbulb moments kept me excited to continue playing. I could not get this game out of my head for weeks. You can engage with as much or as little of it as you want, but this game has serious depth in the world, puzzles, mechanics, and lore. If you are even slightly interested in something "different" or liked what other games like Outer Wilds did, then you need to play this game. You'll be glad you did.

You should try the indie game "a short hike". Like the title says it's a relaxing hike to the top of an island. the game only lasts only about an hour or two to finish it and is pretty cheap. I find it personally the best take on a open world game, where you truly can go anywhere. and its OST IS OUTSTANDING one of my favorites of all time!! I hope more people knew about this game. Great video btw.
