Thank you for bringing up great tips to be more inclusive for women and less senior members of the team. One thing that I hear ppl say that’s thoughtful is that sometimes when they give someone the floor but also knowing that they may not be prepared is to excuse them in advance by saying, not to put you in the spotlight, but do you have any knowledge about xyz

My top 6 list for my calls: - as host, join 10 mins late and MAKE SURE to set the conference to leave everyone in the lobby until I let them in. - make sure you are on a bad WiFi connection and that your audio goes robotic and breaks up. - say you need to leave 15 mins early and leave the others to it. - make sure all actions are assigned to others, ideally those who didn’t join - once on, do all the talking and do not yield the floor to others, until you drop off, early. - when it’s time for you to drop, do not announce it, just “mic drop” and ALWAYS choose “end call” rather than “leave meeting” as you exit.

Thanks for the great tips. I have one question , how to ask for repeat politely but will not obviously show that I can’t follow their speech?
@HowCommunicationWorks

I think it’s perfectly polite to say something like, “I’m sorry. Could you repeat that?“ Or you might just admit that you’re having a little trouble by saying something like, “I’m sorry. I’m just having a little trouble following you.”

I like most of the tips, except the start 5 minutes late. That provides license to be late. If a meeting is to begin @ 8 am, then it starts @ 8am. Starting the meeting late topics, I must respectfully disagree.

In a perfect world, you’re right. In the real world, my experience is that people are busy and login takes time. This method has worked well for me.

I am a fast talker, that’s for sure. It’s something I always need to be aware of.
