I was on this shark dive in Fiji. The guy who almost lost his head is one of shark wranglers. They are the ones who feed the sharks, or prod them away with metal poles. They are the local Fijians. The customers are in a line behind a nice barrier of coral. You can actually see this group in the video as well. I was behind this barrier, stuck my head out to take a picture, which a bull shark spotted. He came for my head too. It wasn't as scary as this video though. The wrangler poked it away and I promptly ducked back down. Lesson learned. This is not an activity for the faint of heart.

Had a diver friend down on the reef ( Great Barrier ) ..when a winebago sized great white cruised him and his buddy ... They dove into a hole, and he says that he would have been perfectly happy to stay there and drown ...rather than swim past and possibly intetest the big one. When their air was almost gone and biggie was still there ..his buddy motioned to grab his ankle and they would swim out ... twice as big as they would be solo ... it worked ..biggie took one look at this weird gangly thing swimming at him and wanted no part of it ... and casually cruised away .

Bull sharks are the most territorial and aggressive and can survive in two feet of fresh or saltwater, tiger sharks are one of the most aggressive only during feeding frenzies and are nature’s trash cans, and great whites are much rarer but are still not very aggressive under normal circumstances and would much rather eat a seal. the reason why more people aren’t attacked is because there are shark watchers and drones, who sound an alarm to get people out of the water, sharks bois rarely come too close to shore unless it’s chasing an animal, in which most cases the shark boi will just eat the animal, and because they dont just eat people on purpose (unless it’s a tiger during a feeding frenzy or a bull) and they would much rather prefer fresh seafood. ofc if i saw any of these sharks i’m getting the hell outta there

You'd be surprised what a good stick will do lol. Sharks often will take random bites out of stuff to see if it's edible, that's why you find a bunch of garbage in their stomachs sometimes. But if it encounters something hard and or sharp it'll usually be enough to make it completely change direction.

Tiger sharks take a “test bite or curiosity bite” to determine if it’s worth eating. That guy would be dead if the stick didn’t intervene.

Just to be clear in my opinion: I think it was a curiosity bite, because when a shark attacks they tend to go fast in order for the prey to not react in time, this tiger shark was just swimmin and just took a little bite out of it, plus if the tiger shark really wanted to bite his head off, it wouldn’t be realistic because there are way more food selections around it, i think the shark was just curious on what we are. Also due to not people knowing they want to know what we are, multiple sharks get poached. However Tiger Sharks are one of THE, not only possibly THE TOP aggresion species of sharks in the ocean. I can see why he tried to bite his head off as in aggresion, if they are in its turf. Its reasonable for the shark to bite as it possibly could’ve seen us as a threat but im not sure wether it really wanted to eat the head because if it did want to attack, it would’ve not swam away. Most tiger shark behavior or really, any shark has been seen chasing down prey without no intention to swim away, the only times they could’ve swam away is to sneak attack their prey. But in that case, sharks usually go fast in order for the prey to lose sight of it and eventually make its move. Also did you see how low it opened its mouth? Sharks usually open their mouths bigger than that if they wanted to bit a chunk of a large prey. But when i knew it was curious bite was when they pushed the shark away. Tiger sharks are aggresive toward almost anything, but when humans push sharks, they tend to fight back or push them away. Either way, heres my conclusion: It was either a curious bite or the shark wanted to eat a fish that was near them, after all there were TONS of fish surrounding him. If a shark biologist sees this, whats your thoughts on it?

Nah if you watch closely the beginning you will see that the guy with the rod actually touched the shark first which prompt it to bite it since it’s feeding time and nearly took the divers head in the process who wasn’t paying attention it seems. Luckily they seemed to have ended up with a spooked and confused shark rather than a pissed off one

Mmmmm kinda looks like someone trying to cut a tomato while the knife is still in its sheath. Sharks posture themselves and their jaw to position their teeth. Like big cats do with their claws. The shark appeared to be in an inquisitive but completely non threatening posture.

What make you think this shark was aggressive ? To me this shark looked more likely to be curious. If sharks attack, they go straight for the bite, they don't stroll around like this shark did.

The guy with the hook didn't save the other guy. The shark CLEARLY grabs the hook which just happened to be close to the other guy's head. I'm guessing the light reflecting off the metal made it curious so it took a nibble.

Everyone saying buy the prod guy a beer. He doesn't deserve one. If you watch closely (the first clip which has a better angle, not the second clip) you can see the shark is actually swimming at an angle away from the diver but the prod guy prods the shark towards the diver, causing it to change course and open it's mouth to bite on the annoying thing shoved in its face. Had he not done that the shark would have just swam peacefully by. Luckily for everyone even having that thing pushed in its mouth it remained non aggressive. Ps I've done this with Bull sharks in Mexico and it was the best experience ever. Don't let this video put you off doing it.

WOW. Is everyone blind? That wasn't aggression, the shark was biting on the pole that was being shoved in her mouth. You can see it clearly in the first clip, the shark's mouth is closed until the pole is in her face. In the second clip, they conveniently edit the shot so you can't see the shark until her mouth is open, then slow the footage down so it looks like she is trying to bite the other man. This is called clickbait. "aggressive" tiger shark "attacks." BULLSHIT

@tobiasbaumgartner3108

the shark only opened his mouth because the other one pressed the metal ring in front of his mouth. take a closer look at the first shot ... the shark almost had the diver's head in its mouth, but because of the second diver ... two different angles, two different realities ..
