RECIPE
Ingredients
Flattened Rice / Poha - 1 Cup
Water - As required
Salt - As per taste
Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Green Chilli / Hari Mirchi - Finely chopped as required
Lemon Juice / Nimbu Ka Ras - Of 1/2 lemon
Oil - 1 tbsp
Peanuts / Mungfali - 1 tbsp
Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Finely chopped + For garnishing
Curry Leaves / Curry Patta - A few
Fennel Seeds / Saunf -1 tsp
Coriander Leaves / Hara Dhaniya - For garnishing
tsp = teaspoon
tbsp = tablespoon
Instructions
Wash the poha. Then rinse the water. Take it out in a mixing bowl.
Now add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sugar, 1 to 2 finely chopped green chilli, and lemon juice. Mix well. Keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add peanuts and roast it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally.
Then add 1 to 2 finely chopped green chilli, onion, curry leaves, and fennel seeds. Mix well. Saute it for a few seconds on medium flame.
Now add the prepared poha mixture and mix well for 1 to 2 minutes.
Once done, turn off the flame. Garnish it with onion and coriander leaves. Take it out to a serving plate.
'Onion Poha | Kanda Poha' is ready to be served.
