I too, admire,enjoy and appreciate you both! At 73, having exercised with Jane Fonda, The Firm, Miranda etc, via VCR for more than 35 years,y ou two are my all time favorites! And the kitchen counter is FABULOUS! I do “microwave yoga” stretches…it’s all great With deep appreciation and gratitude to you both! ((( and very importantly YOU BOTH MAKE ME LAUGH🤣)))

Today = my first day out of bed...after a 3 week battle with Covid. This is a perfect, easy routine for regaining much of the strength lost during recovery! Good timing, too - first day of my 76th year. Thanx for all your helpful input and encouragement!

Another little jewel to tuck into a day's exercise program to bring exercise time up to my daily goal. I have a laptop but prefer to leave it on my writing desk, so these exercises can be done against the back of my desk chair while it's agains the wall. Some movesI can do without holding on, but pushups, etc, can be done using the chair back. I was so proud of Aiko who did all the work perfectly, which was very inspirational to all your senior followers. Thank you, thank you, April and Aiko. Mochi was very vocal wasn't he???...Anastasia

This was fun, easy, and a nice stretch. I like that it was quick but I could easily do this a few times a day. Like so many seniors, surgery and illness has taken a physical and mental toll and having something so quick do to in the kitchen there are no excuses. It can only lead to more strength and stamina to move on to gradually more strenuous exercises. Well done! Also, get Mochi to do a few of these too 😃

Great tips in working out in small places. I always do this against the counter, push ups. Love the new exercises. Mochi is saying hey, I'm wanting to be fed. Where is my food. LOL. Thank you, love it!

I started exercising to your videos several months ago and I love them. I love that I can do a quick workout when I'm short on time or not up to a longer one, or I can do the 30-40 minute ones. What a great idea. a workout for the kitchen. I do some stretches when waiting to heat something up in the microwave, but I am going to try this next time I am in the kitchen (which is a lot). A lot of these exercises I remember doing in PT for sciatic pain. so.. they are good for your back, too.

I also do side steps along the counter. I can grab the counter if I need to. This helps me with balance.

Another great video Thanks April & Iko (hope I spelt it correct) I'm 75 and had an Anterior Total Hip replacement 1 year ago. I've been doing most of these exercises to strengthen my before & after my operation. . I measure how high I can lift my right(operated) leg vs my left, using the height of the counter to let me know how I'm progressing. I'm now adding the Plants & Push ups. Thanks again

Love your ideas for "everyday life" workouts! Kitchen counter workout, shoveling stretches, gardening stretches, toilet paper workout, exercises in bed... How about a "laundry workout"? Doing side steps and lunges while folding towels. And please don't try to put poor Mochi on a diet. He'll cry in every video. - Grace

This looks a good mini workout. I won’t be able to do it properly for a couple of weeks at least, and I’m also going to have to modify all my arm movements and keep to low arms as my doctor thinks I may have pulled the muscles in my chest (it’s very sore). I will just have to work a little faster and harder with my leg movements.if you have any advice April it would be much appreciated as I don’t want to undo all the good l’ve done by not exercising. Xx

When you do the planks, should your heels remain on the floor? Also, regarding the squats, I have found it to help if I hold on to the edge of my sink!

Thank you! Yes, try to keep your heels on the floor. If you find that difficult than do what you can and work up to doing so. With practice you will do it! If 80s Aiko can lift 20 lb Mochi, she is a motivational role model for seniors, That showed her balance, core, and strenghth fitness. Tip: 3:08 side leg lift is more effective when leading with the HEEL not the toe.

Feed your cat. I am an animal lover and it is distracting to have the cat asking you for something in your videos. Your video is great. But either feed the cat or remove it when you are teaching.
