The thing with BVS is that he's an inaccurate Batman... At the time. Allow me to explain: In BVS, the control for the guns is built over the passenger seat, so it wasn't always there. In (the film that I would like to think is not canon) Justice League 2017, he says that he has been Batman for 20 years. Back in BVS, the press seems shocked that Batman is branding criminals, which wouldn't be news after 20 years. It seems like he got more violent over time, and wasn't always killing. I think the explanation is that he got fed up with crime and became violent

In context i agree and i feel it's an interesting aproach, but it's still unfaithful to the sourcematerial because Batman wouldn't lose his temper over such long time, he wouldn't give up his rule of no-kill, i just don't feel like he would, no matter how angry he would get. This Batman is a great concept for an alternate Batman story (movie and/or comic), but BvS feels like it is trying to set up a larger DC cinematic universe like Marvel has, and in that case i'd prefer a more classic Batman, something like the Arkham games, i think they got a good balance of hero and vengeful vigilante.

People always forget that Batman 1989 was an interestingly faithful representation of the original 1939 Batman according to Bob Kane and Bill Finger too, the one that killed, the one that had the awkward Bruce Wayne, and much more violence. Plus Batman is a detective standing right outside of the chemical building he most definitely made sure the goons we’re alone. I honestly love the film and I wish it would get more respect it deserves. Whenever someone says it’s not a good representation I try to remind people how characters start, change, and reset over time. You can’t keep doing the same thing. Btw If you decide to do another list you should include Two-Face from Batman Forever and The Dark Knight. Batman killed him in both films, once by letting/forcing Harvey to fall to his death after the murder of Dick Graysons parents and brother and the other him knocking him off a ledge and Harvey snaps his neck when he hits the ground.
@MAMoreno
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Batman (1989) is extremely faithful to the comics that directly inspired it, namely the Batman comics published from 1939 to 1940. The least-faithful Batman film so far is Batman Returns, as it doesn't really take much inspiration from the comics. Batman (1966) is a faithful adaptation of the first 30 years of Batman comics. Batman Forever is a faithful adaptation of 1940s Batman comics. Batman & Robin is a generally faithful adaptation of 1950s-1960s Batman comics. The Dark Knight trilogy is a somewhat faithful take on 1970s-1990s Batman comics. And so on.

I kind of liked either the Red son or Apokolips war ones because of their brutality with the kills Batman commits. My reasons for liking them are, 1) Red son- Batman sees other people who follow Superman to be evil too so that might be his motivation for killing them all over the city, one of the best moments when he does kill is when he says, “Did I say 10 minutes, I meant 10 seconds” because that is just a dark thing that Batman would never do. 2) Apokolips war- Seeing as he was under the control of Darkseid he had no control over his actions he would of been forced to kill. But when I saw him scowl just after Darkseid left for Oa I began to wonder if he was just playing him because there was a scene in the movie when Damian said that Batman could possibly be one of the only ones the break his control that made me think that the kills that he committed were intentional until at the end of the movie he broke free and helped fight against Darkseid.

Tim Burton’s Batman is lowkey just as inaccurate as Snyder and I love how no one talks about it. Although I guess it was a pioneer of sorts too
@rikudoubapeck
3 жыл бұрын
Nothing low-key about it. He literally puts a bomb down a goons trousers smiles then knocks him into a pit. Then he sets a guy on fire with the batmobile. His Bruce Wayne also isn't accurate. He gets crazy on Joker because Keaton didn't like Nicholson upstaging him and he is a shy mess around women. As for Snyder Batman he is actually the most faithful in terms of characterization with the arguable exception of killing which is not as wanton as Keaton. This video claims his kills are avoidable and reframes events ignoring context. You know what was avoidable? Batman killing many ninjas and the criminal he refused to kill initially and Ra's Al Ghul's decoy in Begins. Also the goon who drove the slaughter truck in TDK and Talia in TDKR and Two Face in TDK. In BvS he doesn't go around stalking criminals to kill them. If they engage with him that's on them. A perfect microcosm of this philosophy is when in the warehouse fight that goon unpins a grenade unprovoked. It's done then someone is going to die Batman just knocks the guy into the goon in defense. He didn't lob the grenade at them like this video professes. He didn't make the guy unpin the grenade.

I’ve always found it really annoying that people complain about Batman killing in BvS when they specifically make a point of showing that he’s not in a good mindset this entire film, and that he shouldn’t be killing. Even Alfred is thoroughly disgusted with what Bruce is doing. He’s still loyal to Bruce, since he’s Alfred. But you can tell that Alfred hates seeing what Bruce is turning into. in batman v superman it's clear that batman is old and tired even in other batman martial you must think that at some point he would get tired of going the same process(joker kills people, then gets caught, then escapes).

You should have had the batman who laughs, he kills joker, and then takes over the world in just 3 days, killing everyone.
