What really illustrates just how good Jordan is with the short game. Is not so much how close he hit some of his shots. But the fact he didn't miss-hit any of them! That, and his level of comfort playing very difficult shots.

good stuff Pete, although those thins through the green (glad to see you kept them in btw) explain why the 60 degree is such a hard club to use, and why most amateurs might be better off using a less lofted wedge

I've watched your videos over the years and just subscribed. Don't be so hard on yourself, you were playing against a Pro. Chipping in your first shot and your commentary afterwards made me subscribe! *Please continue to reinforce player's club selection. I learned more about utilizing my 60°and how grinds interact with shot selection and face angle. The chart afterwards was useful! Happy and healthy 2021 to EVERYONE out there from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (US).

keeping the weight exactly the same is the key to a good flop or bunker shot. If you aren't good naturally, It's gonna take time, depending. There's no better feeling than hitting a flop to 5 feet with a lower tier of the green, 10 feet behind the hole. Makes everyones round a little better.

@Peter Finch Golf.....@8:40...with compacted (wet) sand, the key is to square the club face up more to reduce the bounce, especially if you play a high-bounce wedge....I'm not an expert but that's what works for me, takes the bounce out of it because wet/firm sand doens't require bounce to move the ball, and bounce actually works against you in that situation....opinions and butts right? ;-)

That tight-lie technique was what Phil Rodgers used to teach. When it was pure hardpan, he'd have you deliberately bounce the toe of club off the ground just before the ball. It's scary but it works really well.

Hi Peter. Another great video. Your videos have been motivational and have really helped me through the last months of a crappy 2020. Keem 'em coming. If I could make a request; would like to see some videos centred around senior golfers. I know you can appreciate this as I know your Dad still plays golf. Would be interested in recommended UK and Europe golf courses which are more forgiving in terms of distance and geography. Must have golf buggies and/or trolleys. I can only manage 9 holes and would certainly not be able to carry even a half bag around. Also, any golfing tips. I was fascinated with the right-leg follow through that you helped your Dad implement to help with his driving. Do you also think that graphite shafts or even ladies clubs ( yes I know I'll get laughed at) would help. Looking forward to a vaccinated world and freedom.

The comment about being a pure ball striker and never being in a bunker is similar to what Jack Nicklaus said to me back in 1999. I had the good fortune of caddying for him in a casual round with his surgeon, several months after his hip replacement. He hit two shots short into bunkers during his 18 hole round. The first bunker shot he holed and the second he hit to within 2 feet. I had recently read an article about Nicklaus not being a good bunker player, especially compared to one of his rivals, Gary Player. When he holed his first bunker shot, I commented that I thought he was not supposed to be a good bunker player. His response: “When I was young, I was rarely in bunkers, so I did not practice a lot . Now that I am older, I hit into bunkers more, so I practice more and I am getting better.

Ok Mr. Finch, can I call you Peter? Well Mr. Finch as a life long subscriber and avid fan of the channel..............We your fans want to know........How many takes did it take to hole out on the first chipping station? The last one is the easiest of them all. Arm swing only folks! Take a weaker grip than normally, open your stance, and open the clubhead. (Hard turf and no grass is perfect.) Then just do a full swing in the tempo you need for the particular distance you have. The clubhead bounces on the ground under the ball, perfect distance every time. It´s EASY! (Trust me!)

Also would like to point out it’s a great exercise learning how to hit different shots with one club rather than struggling to pick the best club for each type of shot all amateurs should practice this, it makes the short game a little bit more fun and give more confidence to the player
@ishtiaqhussain3698

Second comment on this video. Peter, have you done a video on the alignment of the feet compared with the direction of travel of the club compared to the direction of travel of the ball? (sorry if that's a stoopid question). If not, would be very interested in one. When standing over the ball chipping and stance is open, club head is open, sometimes not sure if club head should be travelling parallel to stance.

This guy is very unorthodox with his philosophies on these shots. Everyone has a different taste and his works for him. Square up for bunker shots? Ball always on front foot for chipping? Always grabs his highest lofted wedge? Hey, bravo man.
