You are my leca mentor. I’m so glad I found you first and established a strong knowledge foundation. Other plant channels are all judged with you as the standard.

Any chance you can do a video on Silic acid for plants? I'd love to know your opinion

I transplanted an awesome succulent into LECA for the first time yesterday. I became brave enough because the plant was not doing so well. I was thinking of tossing it, so I had nothing to lose. It instantly perked up and is on its way to becoming my favorite plant.

Yes that should be fine. Just don’t let plants sit near or in front of any vents/air drafts

have you tried pumice (2-8mm size)? in my experience the lecca doesnt seem to absorb anything, with the pores being sealed. may not matter but the pumice does retain some moisture.

The pores in leca are not sealed. Assuming you are using proper leca that is. The clay is expanded and wicks using capillary action.

Coming from being an aquarium hobbyist for over 20yrs... I've found that adding a thin layer of clean washed sand(like play sand or in my case aquarium sand) to the bottom of the reservoir pot keeps the water cleaner and the PH stable longer. Just my experience being a plant parent and beginning a leca journey. My personal tweaks lol API stress coat water conditioner and sand! Research the benefits of sand contributions to water filtration. 🌱💚

I would love to learn more about this. Would you be open to showing me on the semihydroponics Facebook group, preferably with pics or video?
