I think the Champion of Morne is also the discussed in the Brick Hammer. The Brick Hammer is found in Stormveil. The description reads: "Weapon made from an ordinary stone brick. Wielded by a laborer who lead a rebellion, and later become a champion himself. Even among other bludgeons of its size, this weapon is especially weighty. The strength of a giant is required to wield it." This leads me to understand it that the Storm King was slain and his people subjugated and forced to build Stormveil Castle. Among the laborers our hero emerges, smashing the oppressors from Altus. They and their forces flee the Stormveil cliffside/construction area and head down to the Weeping Peninsula. Godfrey and the Golden Host would arrive and just brutalize the Fringefolk (people living in the region before it was called Limgrave) the entire rebellion is pretty much wiped save our Champion, who forges the Grafted Greatsword from the blades of his fellow clansmen and challenges Godfrey directly and lost. They must have had some kind of exchange during their battle because this fight has a permanent impact on Godfrey. The brutality of wiping out the clans and facing this champion must have shaken his faith. That or it horrified Marika and she kicked him and his war crimes army out of the Lands Between. We know she took their grace per Melina. And they didn't just lose their grace and casually leave, they were "driven from the Lands Between." Pretty much promising that after a life sentence they can come home.

According to Occam's Razor, that would be the case. The blind swordsman sealed the God of Rot somewhere and the Lake of Rot has no connection to Malenia, who is otherwise the source of 99% of the rot in the game. Given that there is zero explanation presented for the lake itself, the simplest and most logical answer is that is where the rot God is sealed. Or was sealed, there's no sign it's still there. I'm partial to the idea that the rot is like fungus irl, it's a conjoined network forming a greater superorganism. So my theory is that the rot God's physical form, assuming it even had one, is no more. It literally became the lake, presumably as a means of trying to spread beyond the seal. Of course all of this raises questions as to how Malenia became the avatar of something that was sealed away but Elden Ring isn't short on questions with no clear answer. Like why Scarlet Rot doesn't affect the player the way it affected Malenia, Millicent and Radahn as a permanent affliction, for one. You'd think we'd be completely screwed after wading through that pit based on lore wouldn't you?

I'm particularly fascinated with the lone king of Morne, with the fingerprint gravestone on the island where you fight the leonine misbegotten and the frenzy connections with Castellan Edgar, I wonder if Godfrey fought the first vassal of Chaos, assuming Shabriri wasn't the first. Maybe that's why you can summon Shabriri against Godfrey/Hoarah Loux. And this might be a bit tinfoil hat, but I wonder if The Blind Swordsman also has some sort of connection to frenzy. Miquella's needle was designed to block the influence of outer powers, intended to help his sister resist the scarlet rot, but since it also works on the influence of frenzy a part of me wonders whether Miquella was casting a wide net, or something happened to make him want to resist all outer influences and not just the god of rot. Fire has been used to stifle the rot in Caelid, and I wonder if The Blind Swordsman had to resort to having streams of yellow fire burst from his eyes in order to seal away the rot god/survive Melania's bloom. I'm not totally married to this theory, but it's fun to consider.

The first Frenzied Flame vassal was definitely Shabriri. He's Cain from the biblical story of Cain and Able. Their stories even have the same themes. He's also the jewish demon of blindness "Shabriri" who takes over people's bodies. (Let's not mention the Odin symbolism of FF though, with Odin's eye burning yellow flames and another name for Odin is "Frenzy".) Miquella is the male aspect of Merika, which is Jesus. Jesus is the perfect man, which is what Miquella is. The perfect man must be free from ideology, which is what the outer gods represent.

I have a crackpot around the identity of the Gloam Eyed Queen but it’s not so simple to explain without posting a novel but it starts with an item called “The Beast Eye” which we receive from Gurranq, aka Maliketh the Black Blade. I believe this eye belonged to the Gloam Eyed Queen aka Marika the Eternal. The short version is that judging from Iji and Ranni’s dialogue, we know that when each Empyrean are chosen by their two fingers, they are given a shadow that will turn into a horrid curse should they ever betray the Greater Will. How do they know this? They must’ve seen it happen. The only other recorded Empyrean with a shadow in history is Marika and when she began to plot against the Greater Will(Enia mentioning her trespass), I believe Maliketh activated his kill switch and used Destined Death against her hence why she’s crucified with a spear bearing similar traits to the power of his Black Blade(It channels the same brilliance of the black flame and Blaidd’s eyes glow red at the end of Ranni’s questline, possibly explaining the red hue). It would explain why her corpse is missing her left eye, why the eye has a claw mark, and is surrounded by Marika’s stony flesh. Another question I asked myself is just how Maliketh was able to possess or lock away the Rune of Death if he’s just a shadowbound and not a demigod? The answer is simple, he sealed Marika inside him who actually was a vessel for the Rune of Death. He only channels the power from his Black Blade which is made from Marika’s torn half that leads to her missing eye where I speculate the stone covered Beast Eye/Gloam Eye originated from(keep in mind at which side of her face). Her corpse is likely dead since it’s impaled with a DD amber spear, her other half being sealed into Maliketh, meaning the Beast Eye that writhes could be the only part of her that still “alive”. Ew. This eye could very well have been passed down to some of her children as well, particularly the Empyreans. The Three Sisters. Melina(Smoldering Butterfly) - she reveals to have the same eye, on the same side of her face in the lord of frenzy ending. Her previously Golden Eye loses its color because the Golden Order is no more and Grace is gone. Also interesting to note is that her Blade of Calling is fashioned after a Godskin Peeler. Malenia(Aeonion Butterfly)- obviously this is pure speculation but I think the rot that covers her eyes was an intentional creative decision to hide this very secret. Miquella(Nascent Butterfly) - I’ll get to that… Ranni - It’s hard to tie Ranni with being a daughter to Marika but her spirit form keeps the same eye closed as Melina. I believe Ranni’s pupil color that she never opens is Gloam and that’s basing it from Melina. I believe they keep them shut to hide their identities as Empyreans. Shortly after I began to look at Torrent. Particularly about who the former master might be. I scratched my head on that question for a bit and it lead me to two candidates. First one is Miquella. Second is Ranni. Miquella: The spectral steed whistle is made of a delicate “goldwork”, not just gold, mirroring the Item Description on the Unalloyed Needle. I didn’t think much of it at first but after seeing the flame of frenzy ending, I’ve speculated that the material is Unalloyed Gold. This is backed by the fact that the whistle is still intact after the flame of frenzy is unleashed. We know that Miquella’s needle is made from the same material and has the properties to ward away the effects of the flame of frenzy and rot, which both originate from outer gods. Ranni: This one is less likely but upon inspecting Ranni’s discarded Empyrean flesh, you can see that she had red hair and is missing a 🦶 much like how Radahn is missing both feet. In fact, all of the red haired demigods are crippled in the same way and use some kind of crutch to help them get around(Malenia with her prosthetic feet and Radahn with his gravitational powers, probably Leonard before that explaining his attachment). It might have something to do with the Curse of the Fire Giant since he is found crippled as well. I speculated what Leonard is to Radahn, Torrent was to Ranni before she became a doll. The more I looked into these two the more parallels I began to see, particularly their rejection of the outer gods and it led me to my biggest tin foil theory. Ranni Is/Was Miquella and Reincarnated as a daughter to Rennala. I’ll try to explain with my biggest points: I believe that the Amber Egg Radagon bequethed to Rennala contains the soul of Miquella, and after the Shattering, the Great Rune. I also believe that Rennala is attempting to reincarnate Miquella as Ranni using the rune.(Much similar to how the player is able to change sex, traits, name, Identity, etc.) Juvenile Scholar Cap Reads: Yet their rebirth is not without imperfections, and thus do they repeat the process, eventually becoming utterly dependent upon it. I speculate that the “imperfections” are happening because of Miquella’s curse(eternal childhood, also explaining the shape of the rune) and until it’s perfected, Ranni(Miquella) will continue to inhabit the doll. Backing up my previous theory, this would also explain why they all have gold/gloam pupils. Interestingly enough, Rennala is very bewitched by the egg. The Bewitching Branch reveals that Miquella had the ability to compel love and affection and if we look close, we can see traces of it inside the egg, particularly the white buds before they hatch. We know anything that’s mixed with the blood or essence of Miquella tends to stay in a premature “infant” form, hence the Haligtree being stuck as a baby version of the Erdtree and now the buds inside the egg. This I believe is the real reason the Academy invaded Caria, they must’ve found out. Another supporting evidence is by looking at the Rune of the Unborn, then looking at Malenia’s. This is backed by the fact that every Great Rune in the game bears a striking resemblance to their twin counterpart. Mohgs Great rune reads- “Mohg and Morgott are twin brothers, and their Great Runes are naturally similar.” Miquella(Rune of the Unborn) & Malenia(confirmed twins) Morgott & Mohg(confirmed twins) Rykard & Radahn The only one I can’t tie this to is Godrick but it is said he has distant relations. Godefroy? Still a country bumpkin. Another key is Ranni’s discarded empyrean flesh(Miquella’s real corpse). Obviously, it’s charred so it’s impossible to tell but you can see the red hair and stature is similar to Malenia(Morgott cutscene shows identical size thrones for Miquella and Malenia, proving Miquella cured his child form) and is wearing jewelry similar to the Godskins, further tying to the DEQ/GEQ. (Part 2 in reply)

Everyone speculates Miquella has ties to St. Trina’s who’s gender is open to interpretation(The double helix can be seen in Miquella’s needle which depicts the symbol for mercury(Roman God), who represents intersex people). In fact, the item description in the Sword of St. Trina states that he could’ve been a boy or girl. St. Trina is heavily tied to sleep and there is an instance in the game where Ranni enters a deep slumber at the same time as Rogier after he asks you to retrieve her curse mark and she murders the dude in his sleep for prying *shivers*. During her first appearance in the Church of Elleh, the merchant and the donkey are also both asleep and Malenia herself wakes from a deep slumber when first meeting her. I believe she takes the form of St. Trina when she is dream phasing. Also, the juveniles in Rennala’s fight sing about sleep. St. Trina’s torch portrays the figure with one eye (Ranni always keeps one eye open). Another cool factoid about Blaidd is that his breastplate portrays two twins with a tree between, possibly being Miquella, Malenia and the Haligtree, and the double helix from Miquella’s needle can be seen in his Royal Greatsword. Blaidd could very well solve the mystery of their Shadow since they were born at the same time, being twins and all. If his sword does contain properties of unalloyed gold then it would make sense why he’s been able to help Ranni wage war against the Greater Will, right up to the point where Ranni murders her Two Fingers, attacking us at the end of the questline because Ranni(Miquella) is in our pocket as a miniature doll. Speaking of Unalloyed Gold, the Mask of Confidence in particular could hint towards this secret. The gold threads could be unalloyed to hide Miquella’s(Ranni) secret from the Greater Will. The Miquellean straight sword is modeled after the carian sword but it has amber which the amber medallions tell us were known as the most precious jewels in the age of Godfrey. Blessed Dew Talisman - “ It was once thought that the blessed sap of the Erdtree would drip from its boughs forever -- but that age of plenty swiftly came to a close, and with time, the Erdtree became more an object of faith.” The picture depicts a drop of Amber sap. The color orange, which ties heavily to the implications on Miquella and the Amber egg. We know the amber took a previous color before that was associated with the Crucible or Great Tree - Red, hence why we see a red colored Grace(Helphen) in the Forbidden Lands since Marika created the Erdtree from the new sap of the Greattree and the new Grace becoming gold. Gilded Greatshield- “The red tinge in the gold coat mirrors the primordial matter that became the Erdtree. The color of homeward yearning.” The real Loretta can be found at the haligtree tying Caria to Miquella as well. In fact, I personally believe the Albinauric’s(all generations) and Rennala being one herself are Miquellas(Ranni’s) subjects, explaining why half of the Haligtree medallion is in Albinauric village right under Ranni’s moon realm. Coincidence? *Heavy Speculation* There are item descriptions that reveal that Miquella used to be a golden order fundamentalist and my crackpot is he switched sides after he and all of his sibling demigods were born with curses but I think the breaking point was when Marika fell and was betrayed by Maliketh after possibly wanting to free her children, revealing the true nature of the Greater Will. Miquella was the “precious empyrean” chosen as the next heir(which would explain why Mohg wanted to be his consort and why there are oracle envoys in the Haligtree and Leyndell) but instead decided to create his own fate by curing his childhood form into the Haligtree(why it’s stopped growing) and slaying Two Fingers (Finger Reader Crone, Liurnia - The All Hearing Slaughtered) which I believe he did(The missing bit in Malikeths Black Blade is the fragment Miquella(Ranni) stole, explaining the Black Knives guarding the Haligtree). This allowed him to command the Godskins to burn everyone’s Two Fingers with the black flame, also explaining why one is guarding Ranni’s discarded empyrean flesh and why Iji is found burned by the black flames but before she could get to her own they retreated to the stars and are being protected by Radahn. This would explain why Melania marched to Caelid to challenge Radahn and be desperate enough to nuke the place with her scarlet rot. She was serving Miquella(Ranni). The “Shattering” wasn’t named that because of the shattering of the Elden Ring but because the Sun is trapped with Farum Azula by the absolute chad that is Radahn and his immense power to conquer something called “The Primeval Current”. The Primeval Current is another meaning for the “flow of space”. This flow goes by real life rules - the push and pull of Gravity that works from the Polarity between the Moon and Sun. In the game, the sun is trapped in Farum and the Moon trapped in Manus Celes which explains why the stars resume their movement between these two places after you kill Radahn, also explaining why you see the broken ruins mostly in this flow. The sorcerers in the lands between see this flow as a current, or Torrent. Miquella discovered this and wants to use it as Ranni to usher in the age of stars. The Founding rain of Stars - “ The eldest primeval sorcery, said to have been discovered by an ancient astrologer. A sorcery of legendary status. Summons a dark cloud of stars overhead(This happens in the Rennala second phase). Thought to be the founding glintstone sorcery. The glimpse of the primeval current that the astrologer saw became real, and the stars' amber rained down on this land.“ I believe if stopped, this current has it’s own flow of time since these are the only two places where the weather and cycle stay the same, Manus Celes and Farum Azula. The real moon is locked in Manus Celes since it’s positioned at the complete opposite (you can see two moons, the “fake” and the real one) where Ranni confronts her Two Fingers. The moon found in the game is an illusion from Miquella(Ranni) that was used to bewitch Rennala and the biggest clue is that it the shadows in game never face it. This could very well be the reason everything looks so fractured in the Lands “Between - the moon and the sun”. (Part 3 in another…)

After becoming her true consort(Suck it Mohg), Ranni has dialogue where she asks “I take it thou has noticed?” And that her age will not be of “gold” but the “stars”. In her ending, She embraces Marika(her true mother) and vows to finish what they started which is to not be influenced by the outer gods anymore, but to prosper with true freedom and she chooses you to be her consort before creating a massive waygate into the unknown(This is how Miquella uses the primeval current in the game, which explains why they’re so small - being meant for a “child”). After getting to know Ranni(Miquella) though, I don’t think she’s done with the Greater Will. Finally, Ranni do sound like a child and that she tiny The only things that could disprove this is Miquella’s “body” in Mohg’s palace but I believe the it’s nothing but a husk. In fact the game eludes to this since Mohg gets no response and it goes against every depiction of Miquella, the biggest clue is the big vein on his arm from the statues is missing. The cocoon is likely a smoke screen created by Miquella so that he can wage war and hide from the GW as Ranni. Looking deeper, the idea began by looking at Morgott, particularly his corpse after his boss fight, then the body inside the cocoon. They are exactly the same . While I’m always skeptical of external uses, like freecam and game files, the insights we get from them make a lot of sense. Following in game lore and logic, the fact that we don’t find a Miquella’s Great Rune and that the cocoon is found open leaves a lot for interpretation. If we look at the technicals, it’s easy to deduce the body as just a placeholder but I believe it’s Mogh’s own body since it’s uncanny to Morgott’s body after his bossfight(horns gone). This would make a lot of sense since they’re referred to as twins. What’s tricky is to formulate the how, when, and why. I’d like to believe Mogh at one point did in fact kidnap Miquella but he escaped. Not 100% on this since my only piece of evidence so far is the way gate that’s used to enter Moghwyn’s palace since it’s found drenched in blood and why they’re all so small, being meant for a “child”. I believe Mogh transfused with Miquella and that’s what led to his communion with the Formless Mother since Miquella originally housed her as an outer god, Melania housing the Goddess of Rot. This would explain why we find him as a raging lunatic and “selfcesting” with his own body because of Miquella’s blood. I wonder if this was Miquella’s plan all along, to get rid of his outer god(Formless Mother) by sealing it in a simulacrum(Mogh). It would be kind of brilliant. It’s likely he bewitched Mohg, Rennala, Seluvis, Gideon, Malenia etc. Even the player(Weird how we just give Ranni a wedding ring with no explanation). I really believe the Haligtree is one giant Bewitching Branch. I know this makes Miquella seem very sinister but it actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it and look at the map of the Haligtree and the Bewitching Branch. I always did wonder if there was something more going on with everyone at the Haligtree with Malenia in particular as to why she acts more like his soldier than his equal. I don’t think her devotion is completely artificial though, since Miquella did go through lengths to cure her. Mogh however is curious since there are a lot of clues in the game that Miquella’s blood entrances beings. Mogh himself being one of them and the Bewitching Branch the biggest since it’s created from the Sacramental bud(Miquella’s blood) and his Lily. If my theory being Miquella’s Haligtree is one big Bewitching Branch then it could explain why everyone is so drawn to it and defends it tooth and nail. Also why the Bewitching Branch doesn’t work on most common enemies in the Haligtree(I haven’t tested all of them, just some of the soldiers). The other thing is Ranni has dialogue where she talks about being chosen as Empyreans and she says I, Miquella(former identity), and Malenia. Could be she’s being tricky with her words in order to protect her TRUE identity(which she’s done before and even commends you for lying to her about Torrent. She’s not at liberty to reveal her true identity because that was the whole point of her discarding her old one, being at war with God) but who can say. If you read all of this, thank you for your time.

As it turns out, all have harbored the rune of death itself. Also, if your confused with Maliketh, he gives us one of his eyes to aid us in our search for death root. It has the same coloration as Melina’s FF ending eye. Maliketh’s actual character model is eyeless - which is odd because most masked enemies have eyes and or eye-shaped molds. Hardly any are eyeless.

Her talking about being born at the foot of the erdtree is her being reincarnated by Marika, which she can do and did with thousands during the age of plenty. Besides the cutscene where she literally reveals herself, there are many descriptions to match Melina and the Queen, from her dagger up to her dialogue about how she sees and interprets death. And she is definitely Marikas actual daughter, from her appearance up to her antics and speech, its a fit.

The dragonlord was the storm lord, each order in Elden ring has their own Elden lord, the nox have the lord of night, the formless mother has the lord of blood, and the storm lord was the title of Elden lord, also another big point of this is that if you look out in Placidusax’s area, you can see a storm that goes on forever and after Placidusax is killed, the storm stops, implying that Placidusax generates a storm wherever he goes, this aligns with the whole “when stormveil’s storm was like no other” matching how the storm Placidusax creates seems to span over a entire pocket dimension Furthermore, the order of dragons as I want to call it, had mini lords that would answer to Placidusax, Serosh was lord of the beast and ruled over beast men, and the storm hawk king ruled over the storm hawks

The godskin apostles remind me of one part from the Elric of Melnibone books. The Melniboneans are sort of chaos-tainted humans as their civilization made a pact with the chaos lords and dukes of hell. So they aren't entirely human in the strictest sense. In one story Elric travels to the region that the Melniboneans are said to originate from, to seek out the lost city of the first Melniboneans. There he discovers these bird-reptile-human creatures that have humanlike faces. They are revealed to be degenerated and corrupted descendants of the Melniboneans who were left behind when that people originally moved to a new country. And it reveals that they indeed are unlike any other human. Maybe the godskins are some kind of degenerated proto-humans or dragon-humans from the past as well?

Banished Knight armour is an archaeological treasure and one of the few measures of time in the Lands Between. Luckily the remaining wearers are sapient enough to maintain their equipment so we get a good look at intact copies as well as long abandoned battlefield sites. I'll tell you what I know about dusty displays and holes full of rust and bones first. Firstly, we see the suits on display in Gideon's memory of Roundtable Hold. There are suits and crests on display, but the exact context of that display isn't wholly clear. Are they stored for use? Trophies? It shows up on display in a few castles in the contemporary world too. Usually says something about the owners. The next time we find it laying around is the inner wall battlefield surrounding the capital. The craters from the dragon-stopper ballista bolts are used as corpse-pits, judging by the amount of remains found in them in a disarticulate state. However we do find articulate suits left in place where their wearers fell. The context of an army of these knights attacking the capital for whatever reason is clear but we can't tell why or when. Best we got is the cinematic trailer but that doesn't seem to be the Banished Knights attacking, at least that time. This site is particularly interesting because we see weapons unseen on the BK enemies we fight. There are swords, long tipped spears and (most useful to us) we find shields bearing a similar but not exact crest to one side of their 'modern' shields, implying they altered their heraldry and weapons when their order was banished.(supported by the descriptions of the BK gear to a degree. The armour all says 'worn by'. The weapons and shield all say "given to' rather than 'used by'.) Now we can go from looking at ancient examples to the modern ones. The armour still bears symbols of accepted creeds at the time of it's wearing, such as an omen horn upon the shoulder, and a dragon crest upon the head. Lesser is the 'ancient motif' noted in the Halberd's description. It's the crawling vine looking pattern that adorns the whole armour set and even their banishment weapons, but it's only singled out on the Halberd. Finding it elsewhere besides the knights is potentially useful. Lastly for now there's the way the 'living' knights wear their kit. Despite expecting the unaltered and altered sets to be exclusive or some kind of choice, it appears that Castle Sol's Knights can wear the tabard(and it's resemblance to the veteran's set torso implies rank specifically), while Dragon Cultists wear the scarf. Nobody ever seems to wear both tabard and scarf. Why do Dragon Cultists specifically hide the image of the dragon and omen horn with that scarf? Anyway this got about three paragraphs longer than it was intended to be. But that's life I guess. I didn't even get into the writing on the Banished Knight Shield and how it looks to be a derivative or descendant of the wall-tablet script you find on cliffsides.

Malenia is Miquella, think about it: Born from who: Radagon/Marika only makes sense that the "two" beings that are just opposite of one another translate into that as a child . . . Miquella is mentioned as the fiercest of Demi Gods . . . Makes sense if Malenia was there What arm is Malenia missing? What arm is popping out of the cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace . . . ^ If Malenia is Miquella, Blade *of* Miquella it only makes sense that her assault on the lands between ends when Miquella goes missing. How can a war have a purpose if the cause is not there. *Blade of Miquella,* but there's no more Miquella hence no blade . . . I could go on, but I'm tired and the rest is more on the lines of coming up with multiple theories which then bridge together from there.

I have a theory on why Malenia and Radhan fought to the death, my theory is this. Malenia returns to the haligtree to find her brother gone, then proceeds to follow the trail with her army to caelid and assumes that radhan spirited away her brother. Little do both parties know that miquella is under caelid, hidden by a unknown demigod who works through agents only known as the lord of blood.

I haven't seen anyone else talk about Melina being some sort of construct of the Erdtree, but its something I've believed since my first playthrough of the game. Her strange speech patterns, her too deliberate actions, her near lack of emotions...towards the end of the game I started getting an almost uncanny valley sense from her, something that seemed so human, but just missed the mark somehow. I had a stoned brain cartoon a few months back in which I saw Melina as some sort of metaphysical multidimensional puppet branch of the Erdtree's will, where she exists in all timelines of our games at once to try and influence us down the path of the Erdtree/Elden Beast. Obviously I have nothing to back that up other than my bizarre headcannon. Btw I'm sold that St. Trina is the Gloam-Eyed Queen, based on the translation of the Godkin Duo song. It definitely fits what Miquella/Trina were trying to accomplish, two halves of the same coin of lessening the impact of Outer Gods on the Lands Between. I'm honestly surprised it isn't talked about more, its kind of a huge lore dump. Wonder what your thoughts are on the subject.
@pinip_f_werty1382

There's record of the Gloam-Eyed Queen being Empyrean before Merika, I don't think it's Miquella because Miquella is the "spiritus" (Male aspect) of Merika when she split herself to join with Radagon. This follows the alchemy allegory that is consistent throughout Elden Ring.
@PerusingPanda

@@pinip_f_werty1382 Miquella being the original other half of the Rebis is not something I've heard before. I suppose it's possible, but I'm not sold on that. Similarly, I hadn't heard of the GEQ being Empyrean before Marika, so if you can point me to where you got that, I'd be very interested ^_^

@@pinip_f_werty1382 I can definitely see how there would be multiple attempts at Rebification lmao, I feel like Miquella attempted something like that in the Haligtree at least, but I'm pretty sure that was with St. Trina. Not sure who else might have tried, maybe Marika with Godfrey? I don't remember anything pointing towards that but I've also not really thought about it much. Black Flame Ritual only states that the GEQ was an Empyrean chosen by the Fingers. It doesn't point to a timeline for when she was deemed an Empyrean.
@sk8legendz

Melina I think is the gloam eye'd queen's daughter she was born at the base of the erd tree through the birthing ritual, and given the task of being a Kindling Maiden. what the original plan was I think was to destroy the ErdTree and to replace the greater will/Marika with the gloam eye'd queen and some outter god related to Death/the black flame. Marika discovered this, would send Maliketh to kill the gloam eye'd queen, and would then take Melina and lock her in the Lift of Rold's hidden chamber before I assume she was either burned to death via the black flame or outright sent and thrown into the Forge. OR she escaped her captor, reached the forge, and died in a failed attempt to burn the erd tree. or perhaps Marika tried using her as a kindling maiden but the attempt failed and that's why she would resort to destroying the elden ring/banishing the Tarnished as her initial coup had failed. I'm still piecing this together but this is my rough mental draft of my thoughts thus far. Been going down a rabbit hole with it

Fromsoft knew they couldn’t add more about the Gloam Eyed Queen because they knew that they had enough fuel for rule 34 artists. Hentai jokes aside, Regarding Ranni and her mentor, I’ve been thinking for a while, with Ranni’s true body/corpse at the top of the Divine tower, we have a slight understanding of what Ranni looked like. “Slight” being she had red hair and was about 7 feet tall, or a few heads taller than our character. So with that, why did Ranni find her mentor so worth respect, she got a doll body to look like her? That’s like, a plot point seemingly out of Cyberpunk. Did she not want anyone to recognize her? I mean, that’s cool and all, but choosing a simpable 4 armed doll as your new body wont exactly keep you under the radar either. Very curious stuff ngl. Maybe it was to fool the 2 fingers? But I was convinced that when she killed her own real body, they lost track of her. Also the spirit that lingers on the side of the doll’s face, is supposed to be Ranni’s right? both faces look very similar. I wonder if the doll has the body of her mentor and the face of Ranni?
@glorytoukraine5524
2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it really is to fool the two fingers, but to no avail. When we carry her around as a doll, she mentions she didn't expect anybody to recognize her in this disguise. Maybe the same thing happened when she died? The people serving her could recognize her anyway, despite her best efforts. And since Blaidd was one of them, that automatically meant the two Fingers could see her.

Well, that's a great video as always, but I need to point out your mistake, of saying that "the rot outer god was maybe seales outside of the lands between". Because the lake of rot map literally says: "A great lake of standing water downstream of the Ainsel River. It is said that the divine essence of an outer god is sealed away in this land.". The mentioned "divine essence of an outer god" could mean that his physical form has been slain, but that his essence... spirit, in a way, lives on in the lake of rot. Maybe there's a scorpion out there that has no spirit, wandering around. This would explain why Malenia doesn't become a scorpion in phase 2. This might as well be a godwyn situation again..... But I really don't know. What is confirmed is that the rot god essence was sealed there. Why did fromsoftware hide such important information behind a map really is a mistery....
@TheHonoredMadman
2 жыл бұрын
Forgot all about that description it's been awhile since I'd touched on the rot lore, so I was a bit on the rusty side I suppose, that's the issue with the lack of scripting on these. I would say maybe it being sealed away in this land refers to malenia containing the rot god, I had previously thought maybe the blind swordsman sealed it away in her but it said she was born with it so it left me without a conclusion
@lorenzo8208
2 жыл бұрын
@@TheHonoredMadman well, I'd say the rot and the god of rot are 2 different things, wich I think is the most logical conclusion. Maybe the butterflies are the "vessels" (vassals? I don't play the game in english, sorry) of this specific outer god, or have obtained an important position in spreading the rot after the rot god was banished in that lake. Or they just appear where the rot is (wich happens for the smouldering butterfly, appearing where there is fire, but the nascent butterfly? Where there is arcane?). But I wouldn't really say that Malenia countains the outer god, because I thought that his "essence" was the rot in the lake, as it's the strongest one in the game, and obviously he can't move from there. Whatever, just my thoughts
