We consume milk from our very birth, and sometimes long after that. It is so normal that I never really questioned how mammals evolved to produce it. That was until I heard about pigeon milk ... then I had many questions!
In this episode, we will explore 5 myths that I believed about milk and the evolution of lactation.
0:24 Myth 1 : Only mammals produce milk
2:07 Myth 2 : Lactation evolved only once, and relatively recently
3:00 Myth 3 : Mammary glands evolved after viviparity
5:12 Myth 4 : Platypus don't produce milk
6:23 Myth 5 : Only females produce milk
