This video really encouraged me. I am 26 years old, married with 5 children all under nine years of age. We have very, very few friends and little family around for support and encouragement. I am also finding myself having to start from scratch as God has been opening my eyes to things...I am having to figure out who I am as a person, what I believe...all while trying to be a wife and mother....I am struggling! I am struggling to know how to teach my children these things, your video was incredibly helpful! Thank you!

Don't forget still having time each month to date your partner & joining a support group! Getting a babysitter and having alone time is essential! I had three children under 4 years old. It's ok to space them out too if you want. Bruchas and nachas on your children, what a blessing!

ToLoveIsToLive89 I'm so totally on the same page as you right now in my life.....i know it's been 2 years since u put this comment up and I hope that by now u were able yo find comfort and strength. I have 6 kids and divorced and have literally no family cuz they all live a state away and I can't even consider moving closer to my family cuz my child custody visitation agreement would separate my kids from thier dad and cause me to have to pull my children from their community that they have grown up in and feel at home and stable. I was a Christian a year ago and left church and have come to a realization that I wasn't on the right spriritual path and I still don't. I'm on a journey right now trying to find myself while at the same time trying to raise healthy happy kids with all the drama of everyday life on my shoulders. I take things one day at a time and appreciate the little things in life, like my children's smiles and when I'm able to bring those smiles thru my involvement with them. Life is short and we can't waste one minute of it

You described my daughter when you describe yours. So kind and sensitive and takes her time to get to know people but once she finds she like you, you'll be best friends forever. I'm learning to let her be her reserved self. Besides her outgoing brother is helping her come out of her shell.

You made me laugh talking about your daughter's menu. My daughter's menu was just as ambitious, yet when it came down to all the prepping, she lost steam quickly. Oh, the sighs and even the occasional tear! LOL!! Instead of taking over as she'd hoped, I supervised while she did ALL the work. I remember feeling horrible watching her struggle so much, and doubted if I was doing the right thing. Yet she did it, and it was fantastic! I'll never forget the look of pure joy on her face, watching us enjoying her efforts. That was 6 years ago. She's 18 now, and her cooking skills have far surpassed mine. You're so right about giving them responsibilities a little over their heads. Holding my ground and letting her struggle through it was one of the best things I ever did as a parent. Thank you for reminding me of this precious memory and for giving me the opportunity to brag about my awesome daughter. 💖💖💖💖💖💖

@FemBot - That’s some trash advice you provided. So… let’s take a hypothetical look at following _your_ advice… Let’s say your kid is a violent, non-compromising, selfish person… that’s behaviour you don’t “accept” because it’s “who they are.” If you heeded your ignorance, the world would end up with a dangerous individual, likely exuding narcissistic and/or sociopathic behaviours. Instead, what should be done?? Correct the bad behaviour before patterns become habit, and get them help to _STOP_ the madness. So… yeah, please don’t procreate. We have enough self-entitled grown babies out there mucking things up. We don’t need more.

Thanks for sharing your testimony as a parent Rivka. Your experiences shared in this clip has also been encouraging me. There is no one book that has all the answers. That's why its so important to share and thus, validate our experiences. I just discovered on Mumsnet the definition of handling and surviving kids having nappy leaks as a "Surviving a poonami. Its had to stay a float as you mentioned as "trying to be super mum". That's why family support groups are so critical. Let us continue to encourage each other. True confidence starts from within and not acting like we have it all together. But to alow our kids to make mistakes and grow in a safe and loving environment. Also admitting that it is scary raising kids with all these social issues we face like bulling and crime which sadly begins in the home. I will end with Harper Lee quote in the book To Kill A Mocking Bird, "I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand."

👏👏 i loved hearing your personal experiences of how you realized your kid was an observer, that one was my top favorite. Also i loved hearing your humblessness to realizing your mistakes.. All moms/parents make mistakes. We are all people however the key is to constantly notice how to say this or do something differently in order to build them up by their love language and temperment.
