Patch 1
I'm using the Multistage as a glitchy sequencer, resetting it with probability (via Branches) sometimes on the 7th step, sometimes on the 5th. This is sequencing the Cascades VCO, going to the Ikarie filter with panning modulation. From there, it's going to Magneto, with modulation for the Shift.
I'm using the NerdSeq as the clock for the Multistage, so the time control becomes pulse width for the envelope output, which I'm sequencing with the lower row, and using to control the Ikarie filter.
The bass is coming from Cruinn, going through the Freak filter, sequenced by the NerdSeq.
Another voice is coming from the STO, going to the Vorg filter, and from there to Microcell.
I also recorded some notes onto Morphagene, which I'm sending through a band pass filter, X-Pan for panning modulation, and StarLab for some glitch and shimmer.
Patch 2
I'm using each sequence of the Multistage to sequence a different oscillator. Once, it's the STO going through the Vorg filter, and once it's Neoni going through the Waves filter. Both are going into Magneto.
I'm using the Bard Quartet to quantize both sequences, and I have pre-transpose set, so I can transpose the voices before the quantizer, which I do with the Instruo 1f module.
I also have Cnoc going into Planar 2, and I fade between modulating Vorg and modulating Waves.
Another voice is coming from the Cascades VCO. I'm mixing a few waves with X-Pan, modulating the panning with Caudal, sending this through StarLab into the Freak filter. This voice is being sequenced by the Vult Feigen sequencer.
The bass is coming from Cruinn going through the Ikarie filter, being sequenced by the NerdSeq.
Patch 3
I'm using the Voltage Multistage as an oscillator, driving it with Neoni at audio rates. I'm mixing its outputs together with the fold output of Neoni, and I'm using one of its gate outputs as a bass.
I'm using the Voltage Block to change its timbre via the speed, and everything is going to the Ikarie filter, which I'm modulating with more outputs from the Multistage, and with noise.
Another voice is coming from the STO, going through Magneto and the Vult Freak filter. I'm using Magneto to add pitch shifting, and I'm using the Voltage Block to control the feedback amount.
The last voice is coming from the Cascades VCO. I'm mixing and morphing between a few of its waves with Planar 2, using also the AM output modulated by more noise.
This is going through the Waves filter and then to StarLab for a bit a texture and overtones.
Patch 4
I'm using the lower sequence of the Multistage to sequence the timing, so the sequence itself is a bit jittery. I'm also using Branches to add probability to if the Multistage is running or not.
The upper sequence of the Multistage is sequencing the Cascades VCO. I'm sending Cascades through the Vorg filter and then to Microcell for some texture.
I have another wave of Cascades going to Magneto. I'm using the last gate output of the Multistage to open the VCA, so only when the last step is playing, which is not often thanks to the reset and randomness from Branches, it's going to Magneto.
The bass is coming from Cruinn, going through the Ikarie filter, sequenced by the NerdSeq.
Another voice is coming from the STO, going through StarLab with some filter modulation, and then to the Freak filter with nice overdrive.
I recorded a few notes onto the Morphagene that I bring in and out.
I have noise coming from Noise Plethora for extra texture.
Patch 5
I'm using the Multistage as a complex envelope by using its last gate output to stop the sequence, and a trigger from the NerdSeq to start it. I'm also randomly modulating the time of the Multistage, so each cycle is a bit different.
I'm using this to modulate the filter of the bass, which is coming from Cruinn going through the Ikarie filter.
I then record my guitar into the Morphagene, modulating the slice and scan with random voltage. I'm sending the guitar first through StarLab for adding a bit more complexity.
I'm using the second sequence of the Multistage to sequence the pitch of the STO, sending it through the Vorg filter.
I then have two more voices sequenced by the NerdSeq. One is Neoni and the other is Cascades.
I also have some noise coming from Noise Plethora, going through Microcell.
Everything is going into Reaper for multitrack recording and reverb, and the visuals are coming from the Hypno device.
