Did you know on the fight scene between Captain Hook and Peter Pan, Captain Hook in Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, his hook is on his right hand, and he’s fighting with his left hand and he’s wearing a belt. In Tokyo, Disneyland Captain hook is facing his back toward us as his fighting Peter with a lunge movement and of course he still wearing a belt but in Florida, Tokyo, and Shanghai they got Captain Hook correct. It’s sit in the movie Wendy tells John that Captain Hook’s hook was on the left-hand.

Odd that the Lost Boys only appear in the Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland versions (both as small figures around the campfire, and full scale figures captured by Hook on the ship). It's curious that they seem to have been written out of the other versions.

Didn't even know, they have SO MANY differences)) but Disneyland's "London map" seems to be the least impressive among others, it is too flat!

Cool thing about the facade at Disneyland Paris is that the ride is beside Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jolly Roger ship creating a kind of pirate mini-area and a smooth transition between fantasyland and adventureland. That's probably why the facade has a bell in place of the clock, to make it more piratey.

I didn't really think of it like that. Genius

@@ParallelDiscover they do transitions between areas really well I that park, like they have a but in the pinnocho restaurant that's like the boat inside monstro the whale which spills over into adventureland and works well beside pirates!

I got a couple of videos planned at the moment. Sadly I am slow at making the comparisons. I definitely want to get to Pinocchio. Probably will be a couple of months.

Very nice video. I think the original Disneyland version and Paris are almost tied for best version. They're mostly the exact same. Though something the Paris version has over CA's is the pixie dust effect on the ship near the end. The effect is done with laser projection in Cali whereas it's a dense fiber optic curtain at Paris. IMO the fiber optics are far and away more impressive and striking. So i'm inclined to give Paris the edge there. I also actually like how the Mermaids scene is placed at Paris, framing the unload area. Shanghai is a different "next gen" take on the classic. It has some nice new visual effects and scenery. However, and this may draw controversy, I think the ride is too sparse in terms of characters and is too over reliant on projections for these elements. The ride is also outright missing the Indians, Lost Boys and Mermaids. There are fewer pirates as well (the scene where Pan and Hook are silhouetted on the sail is especially empty). Again though, it has some pretty new scenery and effects. A few years ago, the versions at WDW and Tokyo were virtually identical. And both also had largely unthemed queues. At WDW, there were some restrooms connected to the show building that were closed and relocated right across the walkway (where the old Skyway station used to be, which is now a Tangled themed area). They used the old bathroom space for the new themed interactive queue. The ride itself however is almost exactly the same as it was in 1971. I grew up with WDW's and it was the first one I rode, but I've grown disappointed with it since discovering the Paris/CA versions. The background scenery in Neverland is especially lacking at WDW, much of it is just empty black walls and curtains (not even adorned with fiber optics) whereas the Paris/CA versions are filled with lovely detailed murals and layered scenery. Also prefer the music in the others too (especially the song building up when you fly out the nursery window). It's long overdue for a massive update IMO. One thing I still love about WDW version however is the London flyover with the more 3-dimensional buildings. I wouldn't want them to flatten this scene out, just add new effects. Tokyo's underwent a major renovation a couple of years ago. There were some minor enhancements to the London and ending scenes, but nothing earth shattering. The biggest changes were to the middle Neverland room. They basically gutted everything here and remade it from scratch. Sort of taking cues from DL and DLP versions. They filled half of the space with a new island miniature, and lined the other half with new scenes for the Indians, Mermaids and Lost Boys. The pacing and execution is kind of clunky. The new fiber optic starfields on the surroundings are nice at least. But something went wrong in the design of the Neverland island miniature. It's very misshapen, strange looking and even kind of ugly. The scenes for the Indians, Mermaids and Lost Boys are also awkwardly lined up in a pretty empty hallway of stars. The WDW at least connects them to the larger island scenery, and CA/Paris neatly places them in their own areas and gracefully frames them with an attractive painted mural in the background. In Tokyo, they're just floating in empty outer space. Feels like they wanted to convert Tokyo's into the version from CA/Paris, but gave up halfway through the design phase and hastily cobbled together what little they had so far.

Wow. What a read. I thought it was funny how Tokyo's was an odd hybrid, now I know why. I agree about the projections at Shanghai, but I do like how captain hook goes from silhouette to full color and falls when he passes the sail

@@ParallelDiscover Yeah. Occasionally Disney will alter their old rides. This can range from minor to major changes. I believe the Disneyland Pan also underwent a major overhaul back in 1983 when they massively renovated the entirety of Fantasyland. It has received some minor effects additions since then, but nothing too massive. Changes to rides over the years are pretty fascinating. WDW's Snow White ride was another that got a huge overhaul in the 90s. It used to be scarier and had a lot of massive differences in the scenery. Snow White herself didn't even appear (guests were supposed to represent her character). Much like Tokyo, it also didn't have a happy ending back then. It ended inside the mine, and the final scene is the witch dropping a giant gemstone on riders (so you basically died much like in Mr Toad). There are videos of it. Haunted Mansion at WDW also had some differences prior to 2007. The beginning hallway had sinister portraits whose eyes would follow you. The upside down staircase was just a regular dark staircase with large spiders and webs (apparently there was a decomposing corpse trapped in the webbing for a brief time back in the early 70s). The bride has gone through a bunch of different designs and used to be a lot scarier in prior versions. The bride I remember from the 90s held a candle, had a glowing red heart pulsing visibly through her gown and a completely blacked out formless face (only her eyes were visible, which were just two formless yellow lights). She didn't speak, she just creepily watched guests passing by. There were also ghosts in the attic which would pop out of boxes screaming loudly. Tokyo currently seems to be mostly the same as WDW's used to be.

The shanghai one has " second star to the right " playing in the nursery which makes it much better then the normal ride music in all the others and then transitions to the " you can fly " song...got a lump in my throat hearing it and they have to change it in the other parks
