Math Formulas mentioned in this video:
The Focal Length Rule/Reciprocal Rule:
1/Focal Length = Minimum Shutter Speed
The Sunny F/16 Rule:
On a Bright Sunny Day, F/16 + 1/ISO (for the Shutter Speed) = Proper Exposure
Bright Sun, Snow or Sand = F/22
Normal Sunny Day = F/16
Hazy/Lightly Cloudy = F/11
Cloudy = F/8
Overcast = F/5.6
Sunset/Shade = F/4
Dusk = F/2.8
F/8 and be There
Set your aperture to F/8 and take a guess at the shutter speed (nothing under 1/60th or a second), you’ll get an acceptable image.
Inverse-Square Law for Light:
1/Distance Between Light and Subject Squared = Light on Subject
600 Star Rule:
600/Focal Length = Maximum Shutter Speed
