Very useful, thank youI love b&w's, think it's got something to do with the beautiful old photo albums my grandfather made before WW2...

I will admit, I do not do any black and white conversions, but you make it look so easy I may start.

I don’t convert my images to b&w too often but used the darkroom years ago and favored b&w for printing. I used to use Macphun b&w software years ago and loved that software. Currently I use either LR or Nik but may experiment with Luminar Neo. Thx for your videos. They are always helpful.

If you liked the Macphun software you'll like Luminar Neo. It's made by the same folks, they're just called Skylum now - use my code DPM10 to get 10% off. Glad this was helpful.

I already have Luminar Neo Version 1.18 but could not locate the b&w slider panel. I looked everywhere.

Responding to your query... Always B&W. Also nice to see a video exclusively for NEO Every time you bring up the other ones, I leave and inevitably forget to come back. Sorry.

Hi @Gordw6402 thanks, but not sure what you mean. Perhaps you're referring to my weekly Livestreams? Those are usually 1-2 hours long and I switch back and forth from Lightroom to Neo based on the image that was submitted and which program that person wants demonstrated. But most of my other tutorials like this are just one software. There is also an entire Luminar playlist which you can find here kzitem.info/door/PL_lGwpH8kvQ5fQ9V1MLxgTd-ISC7D5LNf

I know this is a Luminar Neo session, and a very good one at that, but do you have any B&W conversion videos using Photoshop &/or Lightroom Classic by any chance ?
@DigitalPhotoMentor

Yes I covered black and white conversion with Lightroom in my last Livestream. I switch back and forth so just watch the sections you want kzitem.info/news/bejne/qKR8mZ-ohJp8pIY

How to deal with masking? I've tried doing it in neo before, but I wanted to adjust luminance/saturation using masks... but once it's BW those sliders don't work anymore. Is using color and color harmony the way? it feels to me those sliders in BW do something different (or maybe i didn't use it enough)
@DigitalPhotoMentor

Luminance and saturation sliders in the color tool? That's why I suggest using it first.

@@DigitalPhotoMentor is there a workaround to having to jump from one tool to another in the edits tabs? Once you want to edit the color edits, it comes to color and I feel hard to be sure of how it would look like as BW so I need to jump from one to another.
@DigitalPhotoMentor
8 ай бұрын
@@noriller No not really. You just have to tweak it and try again. But are you using the sliders in the BW tool?
@noriller

@@DigitalPhotoMentor Yes, but if I want to use masks... only one pass of BW tool doesn't cover it. And after BW, another pass or color don't work on it

@@noriller Sorry I'm not following what is it you are trying to do. You want to mask for what purpose and which tool?
