Just a side note. UPS claims are a nightmare. They’ll almost always initially reject. Their online claim form rejects the photos. But if you keep fighting they will sometime pay.

I’ve also had people ask for partial refunds because they think there’s some minor issue with the item purchased. The way to protect yourself is by stating that you don’t give partial refunds, but will allow a return. If there’s a legit problem they’ll return it, but if there fishing for money back they’ll keep the item.

Thanks for sharing your insight. From my experience selling hundreds of items a month on eBay, scammers represent less than one percent of the buyers I encounter. It most likely varies by category. I would think that there are less scammers going after postcards than electronics. Cheers, Julien

Definitely less scammers in postcards! Fortunately for buyers and sellers scammers on eBay are very uncommon.

For ESE, sometimes it doesn't have "Delivered" but shows progress going through the USPS system. I think that is enough to get the seller off the hook.

For ESE fortunately the insurance is quick and easy to use, so if a buyer says it hasn’t arrived and it’s been 15 days, we both get refunded!

I sell golf headcovers regularly and I will get requests to change the address about twice a month. The person spends the summer up North and the winter in Florida. Sometimes they forget to check the address before purchasing. I will most of the time change the address for them unless its an order over $15-20. I don't see people trying to scam for a $10 item :) and have never had any issues. Cheers, Julien

Yeah in the vast majority of cases it will be fine - for me it happens so rarely that I just have them re-order, just to keep eBay protections!

No, I don’t do signature confirmation, but I did pay for extra insurance on the highest dollar order I’ve had to date ($800). I’ll probably do the same for any orders over $500.

Quick question - I Just got my first not delivered/lost message from a buyer, and it has been over 15 days and doesn't show delivered and no tracking updates in over a week, do they have to file an item not received for me to file a ESE claim and then do you refund after you file the claim or right away?

No, all you need to do to get a refund from eBay is upload an image of the buyer’s message and the order details page. I would go ahead and refund the buyer then submit a claim, they usually refund you in a day or two.

If the Buyer says " item is no the same as in picturini?wtf why🤔??" It can't be if the seller is honest nor could be destroyed during delivery ...because the envelope would be wrecked too...in this case a genuine buyer shud take photo soon as he/ she get the item w/out opening it .
