Oh yes, that is the church, it also had a school connected with it too, don’t know if the school is still there though.

I know this isn't on topic but do you know anything about Midland Park?

Hello again, Walter. Thanks for watching. I do. It's between Ridgewood and Wyckoff. I'd compare it some to Emerson, Hillsdale or Westwood in regards to pricepoints of homes. High 400s to low 500s. It's quite busy up and down Godwin Road that cuts through it. But check out niche.com to give you some insights too. What were you curious about? www.niche.com/places-to-live/midland-park-bergen-nj/

@@LivinginNorthernNJ Thanks!, but we lost interest in the area pretty quick because most of the homes in midland park have very high taxes (13-16) and the ones that don't are like 400-500 thousand cape cods but the market is so competitive for those houses that they end up having a good 20 people at open houses so it would be very hard to get one of those houses at a reasonable price. But now were looking at this place called Washington Township in Bergen county, its near Westwood and Hillsdale, if you don't mind me asking, do you know anything about that area?

@@ToasterWaffles I do. I drive through it almost every day (I live in Westwood). taxes there might not be as high as Midland Park. The town is very close the the Garden State Parkway, in fact, some homes sit along it and see the highway from their backyard. It has a little shopping area for groceries and other items, there's a town pool and it's not overly large. Shares schools with Westwood. Their fire department sells Christmas trees every Holiday (we buy them there) and if you need to commute, there's a bus stop right by Seasons catering facility. Similar architecture to Midland park...couple of townhouse/condo complexes, split levels, bi levels, colonials and ranches. I believe you forgot to mention Closter’s best pizzeria: Rudy’s Ristorante
@michaelesposito6962

Rudy's serves up a mediocre pie at best, Nothing particularly wrong with it, but it's the same pizza you can get at any average pizza joint in Bergen County. Carmen & Ray's up the street is so much better and it's pizza actually has taste. (Not affiliated with them other than being a customer).

If you appreciate old Victorian and farmhouse type homes being torn down and replaced with ugly McMansions, you'll LOVE Closter! The over-development of commercial properties and selling out to developers is ruining this once rustic town.Sad.

I lived in Haworth bordering on Closter. Would take Closter Dock Road through alpine almost every day to get to work in Manhattan. All those areas are super nice. But compared to where I grew up the towns are dead. After a certain time forget about finding anything open to eat from the few restaurants and shops in town. It still was worth it to live in an area on a dead end street with woods on one side of the road and to the right of my house since it was the last one on the dead end street. Felt like you where no where near NY and still could get there in 35 min during off peak no traffic hours.

Thanks for watching! How long ago did you live in Haworth? Haworth is definitely off the beaten path and not everyone has heard of it since it's quite small, but it's a beautiful town.

@@LivinginNorthernNJ got married 5 years ago and moved to Hamilton. Just not as nice here, but the wife works in Trenton so couldn't stay there. Still in Hamilton up until last year you could get a home for 350k in the nice area. Now it's probably 400k.

I am originally from Bergen county, born in Englewood, NJ and I used to go to school in Closter as a child, so my childhood was in Bergen County, but I been in Florida for 25+ years, so didn’t have much memory of Closter nor anywhere of Bergen County, and this video relived the few memories I had of the region, and reminded me where I really come from, and also to be able to see how New Jersey and Florida are almost two completely different worlds, different culture, different infrastructures etc. I have two questions: I read and heard that a 9/11 memorial was built in Closter in remembrance to the victims of the tragedy, was it just the city’s idea to honor what happened, or because there were Closter residents that were victims of the World Trade Center attacks? Also, was Closter (or any other BC region) been able to rebuild itself completely from Hurricane Sandy? Someone had told me that up not long ago, there were still places, even historical landmarks still standing idle and torned by the hurricane. Thank you very much.

Thanks for watching! What part of Florida are you in? I went to college in Miami :) Here's info on the memorial in Closter: closternj.us/closter/Parks%20and%20Recreation/9-11%20Memorial%20at%20Rememberance%20Park/9-11%20Memorial%20at%20Rememberance%20Park%20Service.pdf Regarding the damage from Sandy, the shore towns got more of the damage. When it hit, I was with my Mom down in the Barnegat/Long Beach Island area, and it really got hit hard in that area

@@LivinginNorthernNJ Hello, I am In Fort Myers. Thank you for your reply and link. Also, want to add that I remember St. Mary’s church in Closter, which I used to attend before I left for Florida, does that church still operate? Again thank you, I will watch more of your videos of beloved NJ.
