Have you ever thought about taking a gap year? Why haven't you! Tell me!!

Thank you, very inspiring. After I finished high school my parents thought I was mental that I wanted to go abroad and try myself at something new because I had literally no idea where I wanted to be, what I wanted to study etc (parents still are saying "that is life"). Unfortunately, I spent 4 years after high school studying something I hated, never being able to find the courage to have a gap year in between because of all the new responsibilities. Now everything connected to "abroad" is so complicated but I'm still dedicated to go au pair soon, which I totally regret not doing earlier UPD: have been an au pair for 8 months now and super happy with all the new experiences, challenges, and opportunities for personal growth

Same Kristina, same. You're not alone in this. Im 23, nearly 24, and about to start a new job on Monday, which I don't want honestly, it's the wrong timing. I want to do Au Pair first, get creative and learn skills bc I did a science degree to please my parents and it hasn't taken me anywhere I want. If you don't follow what you want, you end up somewhere you don't want to be. Let's follow what we want x

Definitely take your own path and au pairing can do everything you said for those with the right temperament and love of children. Id also like people to consider what other gap ideas exist, like working on a cruise ship etc

Hey I really really want to take a gap year because honestly speaking I’ve been in school my whole life I don’t know anything about LIFE,what my purpose is what I should study…etc I don’t want to rush into something I’d hate or I’m not really compatible with or I keep changing courses or what not.but my parents really aren’t supporting me with wanting me to take time off school they think I won’t go back school😭

Hi I have problem with my Au pair account it seems I'm not able to access my profile any more. I don't know what happened, I change my nationality from Algerian to Egyptian I'm actually Syrian but there is no Syrian option, and I was already in contact with some families now I'm afraid I'll lose my account, I contact with help center 7 hours ago they didn't do anything. What should I do

Hey, I'm curious did you interview all the host families who reached out to you ? Say now you have set requirements that you prefer to work with kids over the age of 2, but a family with 4 kids( 2 under the age of 2 and the other 2 under age of 4), would you still do an interview or rather be honest with yourself because you know what you can handle ?

Hey. Can you please give advice on what the message you send on Au pair world should consist of or look like. I have sent a couple of messages to host families but none of them replied so I am a bit worried.

Omg we have so many videos about this topic!!! But I’m general, I’d say talk to the family about who you are and why you would be a great fit for them!!

Hello there, I was wondering if it is okay to have work visa ( working as an au pair) and still have the right to apply for university in the same time or take online classes?
