This green paint w/ the brushed aluminum looking accents (especially the mirror caps) looks incredible. This is my favorite spec of Forester. I’d just add my own favorite brand of all-terrain tires to those stock wheels, tint match the front side windows, and call it a day.

I agree! Just ordered a 2023 Forester and one of the major selling factors over the outback was the lack of a ginormous touchscreen. If it’s not safe to text and drive, it’s sure not save to be scrolling through menus on a touchscreen when you want to adjust the air.

I hope all auto companies finally do the smart thing and listen to you (and me) and go back to manual controls on the dashboard.

As for the Forester.. I am taller (over 6 ft) and need (and like) a roomy, airy cabin, with good outward visibility (super important for safety!!).. The Subaru Foresters boxy shape, taller design, and bigger windows (for great visibility) seemed to be just what I was looking for. After further research, it looks like there is a MAJOR problem with the Forester's and the location of the safety monitoring devices - which are (unwisely) located at the top middle part of the windshield... These safety monitoring devices are now causing an UNSAFE large blind spot for taller drivers, who now have their outward vision blocked by these safety monitoring devices. Subaru needs to find another place to put these safety monitoring devices. Also notice the cabin lights/sunglasses holder also is placed in that area, limiting visibility even further. Plus I need the top part of the windshield for not only better/safer visibility, but to look out to see road signs, street signs, addresses, highway signs, see land marks, and just general outward visibility for driving enjoyment. I am surprised such a forward thinking company like Subaru could make such a major mistake that hurts safe driving.

For some of the reason stated that is why I like the VW GTI when I look out the windshield I am viewing it through the middle of the front windshield, I am 6' 2", most cars if I put the visor down I cannot see out of the windshield.

The Subaru Forester has many great features, but one area that could use improvement is its trunk. Unfortunately, the steel bar behind the back seats cannot be detached, making it difficult to load larger items. This limitation can be frustrating at times.

I have 2023 Subaru Outback Limited. Recently, eyesight turns off often, although all settings show "turn on", and I check the settings regularly. Windshield is clear and eyesight cameras don't have any condensation/water drops. The weather outside is not humid.No fog, no rain. The car is 2 month old, mileage is about 400 miles. Any ideas what can be wrong? Have you had similar complaints?

I have a 2022 Foerster (with the EyeSight cameras integrated into the windshield-- similar to the '23 Outback) and the only problems I have had were driving in the pitch black (they work after driving about a mile) and a torrential rain storm. I would recommend reaching out to your dealership about the issue. It may be as simple as a re-calibration of your cameras.

I regret my purchase. Was really excited about my first subaru - bought the 2023 Forester (touring) but once I stated driving it around the flaws came to light. My 2 biggest peeves are that the seats are uncomfortable on longer rides and the front end has gotten longer over the years (1.5" since the last redesign) making it difficult to navigate! The Limited unless you prefer the more off-road capable Wilderness. With the Limited you get most of the features that come equipped on the Touring, such as dual zone climate control, leather seats, blind-spot detection and rear cross traffic alert and a power liftgate.
@aidensnow5017

I'm shopping for one as well. I'd say anything Sport trim or higher, the bottom 2 trims seem to have cheaper interior materials like harder plastics on the center console where your knee would rest and cheaper thinner cloth on the door panels where your elbow would rest. The sport and higher trims upgrade to a higher grade wool type of cloth and leather. For some people those are not deal breakers, for me they do sway my choice towards a sport trim since I don't care for leather seats that aren't ventilated, too hot in the summer where I'm located. Sport is also the cheapest trim that comes with blind spot detection, tho you need to make peace with the red/orange accents if you go with Sport. If you can live without the upgrades tho the lower trims are a fantastic deal... If you can find one, 26,000$ base trims on dealership lots are extremely rare these days.

I bought a 2022 Forester Limited a few months ago, but wanted some of the features of the Touring. We settled for the Limited because we live in the Deep South and wanted a light interior leather color. Surprisingly, that's unavailable in Touring. Also, there's a lot of Wilderness trims sitting on car lots here because if you go off-roading, you go in the swamp! Subaru needs to understand that more Americans are going South where our needs are different. We still love Subies for reliability, visibility, road handling, and ground clearance in poorly drained roads.
