So exotics aren't about being a "forever car"? Does everyone just buy an exotic to enjoy for a while then flip it down the road?
@LaPabst

Don't forget 'Recommended' and required $ervice$. I'm a Tech, won't tell you where, but I'll tell you for sure that 'we' have done plenty of work that,,, though beneficial,,, could have waited at best. Timing belts and tune up is a great place to make money. Most exotics are stored and seldom driven. Plugs and coils never need changing from non-usage. Fluids should be changed, because all 'never drivers' do is start and rev. VERY BAD for motors and fluids. But belt$$, especially glass fiber or Kevlar types just don't go bad that fast. OK, find one of these dumpsters in a barn? Yes. But some over-stored turd? Nope. Service intervals are based on worse case track use, not dark and covered tailor queens stuffed into grandmas attic. Drive them, use them, they will last much longer... Oh, and buy a tool box and fix it yourself: $500.00 or $5,000,000... its just a metal box on wheels baby, roll em, break em and use them for what they are made for.
@LaPabst
5 жыл бұрын
@@Victor_Victory The break fluid should be periodically changed,,, its hydroscopic,,, in other word it will absorb water and can cause a soft peddle at best and damage the system at worse. Oils break down in storage and seals can dry out. But most 'service' is garbage and serves the stealership, not you. That being said, THE WORSE THING YOU CAN DO TO ANY CAR IS LET IT SIT. Drive that thing, use it for what it was built for. Its likely that it will never be worth what you pay for them. Its doomed metal box on wheels, and that's it. Break pads and rotors is very subjective. They should only have to be replaced when warn, not on some garbage schedule. Now, that isn't to say that there isn't some exotic crap out there that rots from storage, but not likely.

Very informative. I have owned 145 cars since I was 16 years old. I live in Canada. Everything you say is happening here with the exception of the title scam, sort of. I tried to buy a GT40 when it first hit the showrooms. New cars, still in the showroom were marked up thousands of dollars because the dealer had sold the car and the first owner was selling it. Often this was the sales manager. We never did buy a GT40.

I waited to buy a PT Cruiser until the hot new (& loaded) Turbo GT came out in 2003. Most of the dealers were adding a $2,000 Additional Dealer Profit and a few were offering at sticker price if you'd wait for delivery. I found an honest dealer who wanted to find me a GT. He made a deal with another dealer to trade for the only black/black/black GT in the state, which was the one I wanted. He cut me a price of around $600 below sticker and I said 'Done Deal'. -- He called me very upset 30 minutes later and said the dealer with the black GT reneged on their trade claiming they had a customer out driving the car and a verbal commitment to buy it. Not 2 minutes after we hung up the dealer with the black GT called me saying that since it was the end of the month and they needed to move GTs to keep their quota up he was going to make me a deal.... only he made a math mistake and ended up discounting the car around $1,800 below sticker. I didn't want to buy from the crooked dealer but verified the amount to make the check out for and picked it up a couple of hours later. As I got in the car to drive away I told him I knew how they'd screwed the honest dealer and showed him his $1,200 math mistake. I assured him that I was going to have the honest dealer service my car and would hand out their business cars at the car shows, etc. It felt so good for karma to take revenge so fast!

As far as "scams" go, do you think Lamborghini knew that the SVJ's weren't going to be as limited as the SV's when they were making deals for taking in people's SV's in order to get a SVJ? I saw a youtuber that had a dealer give them a new 488 on trade for their SV Roadster while the youtuber is waiting for a SVJ Roadster. 6 months later the SV Roadster is worth almost twice as much as the 488 Spider they traded in.

Not a scam, most vip clients place deposits down on new releases (unseen) before the specs have been released to the public. In regards to the customer taking a brand new mass production Ferrari for his or her Lamborghini, that’s a (choice)...you are accountable for whatever deals you make and you are also self accountable for making stupid choices. There was a clear chance of the SV being worth more regardless of the trade in because it’s a limited production vehicle, the only reason the value doubled is because Lamborghini released news of their upcoming hybrid acknowledging that the v12s were coming to an end, but even then some SVs are still dropping in value. A scam would be Lamborghini telling customers they were (400) SVJ’s which is less than the 500 Roadster SV’s and the 600 coupe SV’s....then later releasing 800.

So "Loophole" number 5 takes him 5 minutes to get to the point- which basically is: Magically in the US a car which was driven off the dealer's lot and had already one owner can be sold for more then the suggested list price. What? Okay I am from Europe so thing may differ, but here a new car looses at least 10% of it value as soon as it had a previous owner at touched public streets. And yes: Also true for Porsches - at least for all cars you can configure and order and get them in reasonable time. Over here its is actually a trick dealers use to be able to sell cars CHEAPER and therefore sell more cars. So is this really happening?

no because most of the scams the US has is because the way your system is built. example is tittles in Canada no one but the owner has the tittle so when you buy a car you receive it the same day no waiting or looking for it all over. the Us tittle system is stupid and flawed a buyer shouldn't have to run all over or wait for someone to magically produce the tittle. Dealerships have every tittle in hand and every owner has the tittle in their cars so its as simple as signing it over and going to DMV to change the names a 5 min process. I forget all the other things in this video I would have to watch it again to give more examples.

Why at all spend a fortune on a super car. It doesn't compute. Pay 1/5 mill and 6-12 month in loose 1/4 and more just by reselling it. Let alone the maintenance. All that to get from A - to B it's mind boggling to me. Yes if I have the dough, but is that an excuse to be waistfull? Just for self-indulgence? Listen Rather get a plain stock vehicle that cost you a fraction and do some good with the rest. Just my opinion. And don't tell me that it is you right to drive what ever you wish to. Yes you can, the question is should you? I get it making money is hard for all, if you have a good start or not. However it comes to a point where you don't know what to do with all that scrub and you think I won't miss it, all my friends do it, I have to do the same. No that is just it, you don't. The only way to defferentiate you self from others is by not falling for the herd behaviour. A car is just a car, yes a super car has prestige, but only because it's expensive. Instead of waisting your money, plant a seed and help it grow so it may help others in the future. That is pure stesfaction an good for the soul. Take me for an example, I have not got much. I'm not pour but not wealth eeather. I worked my but of to try and make a living. I'm 45 and thanks to some of the things I did am now terminal I'll. Don't know when I'm going to be recycled back to earth but I know that it will be earlier then natural. What did I do? In the beginning I sat arrownd crying to my self and thinking life is not fair and in doing so I got nothing done. Then i remembered an old proverb my grandmother used to use, mainly to kik my but and get me moving. ,, If you are truly God's child, get of your ass and help your self!" Yes thrown at you as a teen toughs are hard words, but they helped shape the man I am today. I am the vice president and co founder of C.S.A CHEVAUX SANS ABRI courenty based in France. It is our belief, in order to appropriately shape the future, insure a better would for your and my children and there children after, it is important to look arrownd you and open your eyes. In my case I am helping horses and want to expand to other animals as well. Next step I will help homeless and other people to have at least some food. That in mind we started in 2012 and are now at the point where we rent a big land . ON this land we are going to help all kind of animals and are going to install green houses where we are going to invite homeless to come and plant vegetables. Those vegetables they can harvest and consume free of charge. Some of those vegetables are going to be sold in the market, help us continue our work. Now part of the idea is to speak to as maby people as possible, encourage them to do the same. Verry quickly, problems from before will be no more. Imagine there is a small garden house in every city blog, giving out free vegetables to toughs who need it most. Street community's will form and help each other helping all over the world. Hunger, no more. Other needs no more because donated cloths furniture etc are available for free for throws who need it. This is where you come in. Look at your garden, plant a fue carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, when it's ready, invite homeless to feel free to save them self, in exchange for replacement or replanting what they tuck. That's it so easy to change the word, but not by waisting money.

Its ridiculous about paint work. Even brand new cars could have paint works done. Simply due to show rooms oops . And transfer boo boos.

As a dealer if you think we know every car that has had any paintwork done you are out of your mind and have no idea what your talking about. I’ve had upwards of 500 used cars in my inventory at any given time and their is no way I could know and yes this includes Ferrari, Lamborghini Maserati etc
