Oils are great! The key difference with acyclic washes is that as long as you have varnished first, you can remove the oils, but it's not an option with acrylic

You’ve chatted about using the fluorescent paints for lenses and flames etc. I recently learnt if you add say a small amount of fluo red to say a red contrast paint it greatly increases the paint intensity. Really helps with flatter GW paints.

That base rim take is wild. 99% of the time the rim should be painted black, painting it a solid color only detracts from the mini. The nicer the mini is painted the worse a painted base rim looks..that said love the show! Keep it up boys

A little late to the party but GW celebrate Sanguinala at Christmas, they have previously done articles detailing the traditions which are similar to pagan midwinter solstice and done little cut out Sanguinius decorations for your tree.

Can you leave a link to the baking paper Joe gets on Amazon? I struggle with baking paper that has too much wax on it. Haven't been able to find the right one.

Only greaseproof baking papers have wax, said wax stops moisture penetrating the paper (not good for wet pallets), non greaseproof papers have a layer of silicates.

Hi Guys, Great show as always, please keep these coming ❤❤❤ I have a small video request... When your talking about a pictured miniature can you leave it on screen whilst you talk about it? I'm finding that I need to rewind and pause it on the image to put the conversation to context
@Bodom1after1midnight

When saying "replace your wet pallet paper with baking paper" it's probably worth stating that there are various types of baking paper, a notable amount of readily available baking papers are "grease proof" which is not ideal as it doesn't let moisture through.

I'm struggling a bit with the 50% shadow/50% highlight concept - if I'm painting ivory/bone my highlight would be white and my shadows would be brown - do I just skip using the midtone ivory color all together? For instance, I'd mix Zandri Dust 50% with Screaming Skull 50% and not use Ushabti Bone as my mid?

I couldnt understand the point of the calgar blue highlight with ultramarines, that previous layer always seems to be covered up by the thrid highlight layer. i had a suspicion that it was acting more as a base layer, and youve just confirmed that, and it finally makes sense to me. I do regret trying to paint in the eavy metal style, the guy in the shop warned me, im 6 months into the hobbie and im still working on my 2nd space marine, its looking phemonal, but its required so of my time that it almost cost me my relationship.

a base rim is not a frame. it is the link to your home terrain. you are making a game peice. if you're just doing an art peice, i guess. the correct base rim colour is only black if you are a deeply boring person. If you must have a rule, you should be using the base colour of your basing. this scervices the same aim as the black rim, without sepertating your model from the tabletop that matches it. you have made your basing match your tabletop. After all, you're not a psychopath... are you? :^)
