From one brother to another..was a heavy lifter..and back in the days I would've tried this heavy press up top..in fact..255 on shoulder press was my routine. But years later I found out the hard way. Bad shoulders. Trust me you don't need that mush heavy weight on your shoulders to achieve nice shoulders!💯

You 💯 right you don’t need heavy weight for shoulders to grow plus when you bench,and some back work shoulders get work.Most importantly I’m 62 in pretty good shape but one thing that don’t grow is your joints and they have a good memory reminding me after every workout all the punishment I put them threw,Stay Strong💪🏾

@traderhines76

@@lolivingston6827 125 for shoulder press is heavy for anyone but I digress. He got three reps. Hypertrophy is what? 8 to 10? No need to go that heavy for hypertrophy. I use to go up to 120 for reps and one rep max with 130. I lowered the weight now and have better shoulder development with no aches and pain.

Some advice from a man who has been trading since you were still in your dad's ballsack is you do not need to Ego lift with you're pressing movements. If you cannot at least get six raps with the weight you are doing more harm than good. The only thing that you're building up is your ego. If you prefer to build your shoulders bigger than your ego you could lighten the weight some and shoot for more controlled repetitions. I know you don't want to hear this because I was your age doing the same thing and if an old-time lifter said this to me I probably wouldn't have listened either. I had to learn the hard way and by training that way I started to experience injuries in my mid-thirties. It's hard to think longevity when you're young and so full of testosterone but trust me on this you will always want to be able to exercise injury-free because once you start to accrue injuries it greatly will affect your overall quality of life

Do basics (lat pulldown, dumbell rows, pull ups ,barbell rows..) and try to concentrate everything on mind muscle connection, you need to be able to move the shoulder blades like if they were your arms, so concentrate more on unilateral exercises, like single dumbell rows with support, one arm lat machine, single row machine (if you have it)... After all of your back workouts, after you finish all the back exercises take 10-15 minutes to pose with your back, search some poses and try to slowly make one in an unilateral way, so first with one scapula then with the other, and then togheter. If you have strapz, use them, if not, just maybe dont go too heavy but do more reps (15ish) with perfect form.
