I recently realized the power of nested scenes and can't believe I used to just have every source in one scene. I also didn't know about the per scene audio, so I'll be changing that before my next stream! I found your channel because of the Motion Plugin video. I then forgot about it for a few weeks and KZitem recommend another video of yours. I then watched everything you made, subscribed, and implemented a few of them into my stream. Love your way of explaining things. Not super dumbed-down and not super technical. Just right in the Goldilocks zone.

Need to learn how explain things if you really want to engage people. First, eliminate cheap jester tricks and slow down. Speak slowly, define two or three things you want to explain and focus on them , slowly step by step clearly taking a viewer to a how to process.

I want to get into streaming because I produce/mix music, and sim race. When it comes to filter order, it's almost the same as signal flow. Whatever is at the top is the first thing the signal (in this case, the source being filtered) sees, and it works down the line. I understood that the minute I saw a compressor as a filter option lol That per-scene audio trick earned this video an early like. I realize that I'm new to the streaming world, and so this video might have been pretty bland for advanced streamers, but it was a lot of help for me! Thanks for uploading!

The per scene audio is one of the biggest tips. I'm left wondering how you did the kind of "fade" transition with the reaper plug-in. Like it slowly goes into that low pass filter, and it's not a sudden change. Since it's using an external VST something like "Move Value" wouldn't work... Any help? PS: Nevermind, apparently OBS does this automatically. If anyone else was wondering, here's more info: obsproject.com/forum/threads/fading-audio-between-scenes.122722/#:~:text=If%20you%20do%20a%20RMB,exist%20on%20the%20net%20scene.

Just installed the StreamFX filters. My camera shows 60 fps. I go to apply the BLUR filter, and it jacks up my system. FPS goes down to 2.9 and my system comes to a crawl. Remove the filter and everything is good. Any ideas?
@gregorybell9912
4 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, I found that problem too. Check out #streamfx on Xaymars Discord channel. @SkeletonBowTV helped answer my query. Even when using the Gaussian filter blur option, which apparently has a lower processing overhead, it bumped up my GPU usage very significantly. As I was only using it to blur background images, to avoid real-time filter overhead, I used IrfanView to create a Gaussian blurred static version of my images.

Another advantage of nested scenes is that filters can be applied to an entire scene-source. This also has potential uses on camera sources, but the way I use it is on my capture card source. Trying to use two instances of my capture card just plain doesn't work if I don't have them disable when not showing, but then I get a rather lengthy black flash as it kicks back in. So, in my example, I have the capture card in another scene and when I use that scene as a source I can apply the transparency filter I need to it and not worry about it conflicting or lagging as OBS releases and reacquires it.

The difference is negligible at best. Of course, more complex scene compositions will require more resources from your GPU for rendering, but you won't notice a difference if your scenes aren't too complex.

Hi nutty, thanks for the video! Interesting as always. I have an issue with customs browser docks in OBS Studio. I wanted to dock my channel points request in OBS Studio so I added the URL: www.twitch.tv/popout/XXXXX/reward-queue (to see the list of the requests) but got an error message telling me that only streamers and Mods can modify the queue request (of course I'm logged in OBS : i see my chat etc...) Any idea by chance? Thanks a lot
