All of these movements are the bread and butter drills we practice every time at training, in addition I would recommend practicing break falling.

@@ryantate6447 Nothing beats practicing with a partner. That is what differentiates martial arts like BJJ and other more traditional martial arts. These are extremely fundamental movements that teach you how to get in and out of any jiu-jitsu situation, true, but you can only hone them as legit skills once you face opponents who are actually trying to defend themselves as well.

Great stuff! As a new (older) BJJ student I've made this part of my home workout. 10 reps on each side of each exercise - great warm up which will get you blowing. Stephan is the man. Hope to see Shane and Stephan together again.

Really appreciate the great info I have been wanting to practice BJJ more but don't have a partner and I train other arts that I don't want to give up but don't have money to train in multiple gyms so it really helps to have some drills I can do without a partner.. one of your best collabs ever.... I really like Stephan Kesting you and him are probably the best martial arts channels on KZitem

Can you adress how to fight without warming up? Because I'd imagine that in almost all street fights you don't warm up or stretch beforehand. So what should one do?

Adrenaline, shooting for weakpoints at maximum intensity strikes, and don't get dropped. Use them knees and sprawls to counter tacklers.

Ask if you can go for a quick run, stretch and pre workout before you begin.

From experience, you won't need to. Even if you do end up injured, you will only notice afterwards. If you stretch and warm up regularly after exercise, there is a low chance for you to hurt yourself anyways.
