the safest way to spear is when using a reel gun attach it to a belt that it is also attached to a float line with a longer line so If iget tangled I gust drop the belt and pick everything up later this only worse in open ocean though and your float line wont pull your gun when aiming

I really appreciated this video. This wasn't a mindless list, you shared insights into situations one may encounter and why. Including things like a little bit of water in an untreated mask, not great but it's something. I've never heard anyone else mention multiple knives (especially considering the kelp, I never even thought about that). I'll be sure to get a visible suit if I find myself purchasing something. I've spent the last couple months learning about reel and rod fishing, but I've been meaning to pivot the experience into spearing. Thanks for a very quality video!

One time I was diving on Key Largo and my buddy came up to the surface saying that he just speared the biggest Goliath Grouper that he had ever seen but the shot was bad and he needed me to put a second spear in it. I went down and saw it near the rocks. He was right; it was the biggest grouper that I had ever seen in my life too. I got close enough for a perfect shot and stoned it. When we got it on the boat we were so exited. Then he said, "Trans women are women too." It was my mistake for trusting him. I learned a lot.

A mixture of baby shampoo and water is the best anti fogger in the world. Put it in a bottle and spray a mist on your lenses. Never have fog again.

THIS ! The baby shampoo is because it doesn’t burn your eyes…and you don’t need a lot of the shampoo either…best tip ever, apart from vaseline on the moustache !

Absolutely agree with the visibility advice. Camo is absurd. Everything goes grey at depth. Pick a color and a pattern your dive partner can see, because the fish don’t care.

I have camo suit and will prob always use that pattern because I like it. I do have a bright orange snorkel and the one 2kg lead on my belt placed on the middle of my back is siliconised in bright yellow. The rest is just normal metall with no coating. This way when I'm belly down on the bottom my buddy will be able to see my yellow lead on my back and for boats the lead and snorkel will be visible.
