Growing up in Malaysia, I took it for granted how developed my palate is until I mix with foreigners for work. From capati to spaghetti to dimsum to naan to steak and to tomyam. Plus it's good to mention that for the past 35 years, local economic progress enabled the rise of middle class percentages size in the population substantially. Food that were considered expensive cuisines suddenly became available easily. Mediterranean & Japanese food are two examples that most Malaysians have become so familiar with that it's nothing new for them. It wasn't always like that, I remember Arabic food was so expensive that it was for a special treat only. Now it's like you can have a chicken mandy or lamb kabsah every other day of the week.

This is so true! I was earning a comfortable amount of money and happily enjoying every meal from gerai to fine dining restaurant. And then now I am earning lesser and I still enjoying having nice and tasty meals from kuih mueh, nasi campur , char kueh tiaw, nasi lemak, nasi kukus ayam berempah, steak, burgers, Japanese food and the list goes on. Now I'm back in Sabah and if i miss eating any food that is not available in Sabah I just youtube the recipe and cook it until I satisfied with it. Now I know how to cook curry, ayam goreng berempah, char kueh tiaw, terung berlada, sup daging, tomyam and the list goes on...cooking ingredients are still cheap compared to other places. I'm nothing but grateful for being a Malaysian.

Nasi Kukus is basically Steamed Rice. I’m not sure how it is done, but it is different from normal rice (which is steamed anyway), and it’s best enjoyed warm. Curry serves as gravy as some of the meat dish like Ayam Rempah and Ayam Cili Tembuk could be dry to taste. Sambal serves as additional flavour. So it is basically how you mix and match the food to taste and palette. If you want it dry, you don’t have to add curry, if you want it really wet, you can it as Curry Banjir

The part where the tiger cannot sink its teeth into because of the bones therefore it cries! It is beef, not tiger meet

This is a really hot issue right now... there says its a small part sirloin or tenderloin but it was hidden underneath a bones where a tiger cannot reach it so it cry as it cannot eat that part

My early memory of Crying Tiger Beef was in a Thai restaurant in Melbourne.. marinated beef with salad. Now it's trending in Malaysia.

Wow..you should put a tagline "MASAK APA HARI INI?" ( WHAT YOU COOK TODAY?)..This tagline very popular during MCO in Malaysia since March 2020....but you can change the tagline "MAKAN APA HARI INI?" (What Do You Eat Today)
