In my experience, the appropriateness of using utensils to eat a chili dog depend upon the amount of toppings. Some are served so loaded with toppings that it can't reasonably be consumed without utensils.

I love a good root beer float. I hate that the A&W restaurant near me burned down. I loved getting the 99 cent floats with the coupon. They kept the KFC part when they rebuilt but changed the A&W to Taco Bell.

In Louisiana, we have a root beer brand called Barq’s. It’s a much less sweet, more spicy spin on the drink. Dunno if it exists outside the state, I never saw it.

I liked hotdogs/corndogs/chilidogs as a kid. Then I went to Sheboygan, one summer, and my aunt and uncle took me to the Brat Days festival. My uncle also taught me the right way to cook them on the grill. Spoiled me, forever. I'll occasionally eat a hotdog or a corndog (with spicy mustard) still, but given the choice, I'll always pick a bratwurst. One of the best things to do with root beer is to combine it with vanilla ice cream in a root beer float. That's a great summer treat.

My dad was in the military and we were stationed in Bitburg, Germany (it’s near Luxembourg). Brats are the bomb! I like to cook them in grilled onions and beer. A friend taught me that when I was stationed in South Korea.

When I was in England during my time in the USAF, I ordered a quiche from a local restaurant. I pronounced it quickie. They were not amused, but my fellow service members were rolling. They thought I was serious in my mispronunciation. I was not, but playing the idiot from small town in western Texas amazed by big cities was just too much fun! People believed that I rode a horse to school, that our parking lots had hitching posts, and we didn’t have pavement or concrete. It was funny!

it is amazing to me that nobody has figured out how to fix chili dogs. the same innovation that gave us corn dogs should be able to solve that. though really, hotdogs in your chili is just better and easier. also the best corndogs are pancake-covered breakfast sausages.

That vendor in Oregon who had his hot dog buns ruined by the rain called his “corn dogs” pronto pups. There is a difference. Pronto pups have flour as well as cornmeal. Corn dogs are all corn and sweeter. You might like a pronto pup where you didn’t like the corn dog.

My family has a tradition that goes back over 100 yrs. On July 4th, we have ice cream for breakfast. It started back when the Milkman would deliver milk. My great grandmother would order 1 gallon of ice cream on July 4th as a treat for her 12 children. She didn't have ice box to keep it frozen. So when it was delivered in the morning on July 4th everyone ate ice cream b4 it melted.

At the Kansas State Fair they serve a different sort of corn dog, called a Pronto Pup. It has more of a wheat flour/pancake batter flavor (because they grow a ton of wheat in Kansas). Less grainy than a true corn dog.

“Pechan” 😂🤣 Funny story: My mother (who is from Tennessee) lived in Boston for a while when she was young, long before she even met my dad. Anyway, one time she was discussing pecan (which she pronounced with an ‘a’ as in car) pie with her roommates, and they thought she was being snooty because they pronounced it with an ‘a’ as in can.

In Cincinnati Ohio, we have a chain called "Skyline." Basically, they only sell cheese coneys (cheese and chili on a hot dog) and "3 ways," basically the same chili and cheese but on spaghetti. It's 3 because it's cheese chili and spaghetti. You can get a 4 way and add onions or beans onto it. Or even a 5 way where you add both onion and beans. Pretty popular here and is basically nowhere else outside of Ohio.

We ate Rocky Road in the early 1960's in Southern California. My dad did boiler and machinery inspection and every time he was at the Baskin Robins plant he came home with several of the 3 gallon tubs of ice cream. Some were flavors that they were testing. Thoss were good days.

I haven’t seen it in a long time, but when I was a kid there was “butter brickle” ice cream, which was a buttery vanilla with toffee pieces. Or there’s pralines & cream. Pralines are candies pecans. If you like butter pecan, you’d probably like those.

I don't know if you even still read comments on your videos that are a year old, but the pronunciation is either pekahn or pEcan, and is delightful nay way you can find it. Candied is one of my favorites. Jolly good channel, I think is the way you'd say it. I must say that your phrase "Bob's your uncle." is a new one on me, but I am enjoying watching your channel all around. Binge watching the kids call it. Also, try a rootbeer float, or a chocolate rootbeer float, with a corn dog with chilli. ...and cotton candy.

Superman ice cream is bubble gum flavored, which is odd because we also have a flavor called bubblegum it just also has tiny bits of rock hard gum in it. Root beer floats are where it's at, you put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the glass and pour the root beer over it. A&W is a really good restaurant chain if you can find one, a friend's parents owned one growing up and got so many free root beer floats and hotdogs and fries.

My favorite way to eat a chili dog is to put cheese in the bun first to protect it from the chili chili goes on top of the cheese than onions on top of the chili and the hot dog goes on top to hold everything else in, it's a lot less messy that way.

Pork Tenderloin sandwiches are fantastic. If it's not pounded flat an many times the width of the bun, it's not a real Indiana Port Tenderloin sandwich. Root beer is one of those things I find foreigners in the States often hate at first, and then the longer they spend in the States, the more they come to love it.

And if I am correct about your nationality that would explain your belief that hot dogs are consumed to a large degree on Super Bowl Sunday. I'd say hot dogs are one of the least eaten food items at a SB party, in part because the host is watching the game, not standing over a barbecue.

Psst. Garlic ice cream is a thing. One of my cousins love it. I think it's a southern thing? I had it at a garlic festival in Minnesota once. Wasn't great because most of the garlic chunks were too big. The smaller chunks I occasionally got actually weren't too bad.

Midwesterner here. Everyone in my family always pronounced it "peh-KAHN". But my friend from eastern PA says "pee-CAN". I suspect it may be a New Englander thing.

So you to try a deep fried chili dog! Also called a "sizzle dog". This deliciousness is made ip of a deep fried hot dog, chili on top, and the whole thing on a toasted hotdog bun. Just be prepared to go on a juice cleanse afterward...

Yes, his humor is constant, yet at times, subtle. Having lived in Texas and been given enormous amounts of grief about the pronunciation of 'pecan,' I picked up on the joke when I saw the twinkle in his eye on the second time he said it that way.

Before prohibition, that drink was called sarsaparilla. They changed the name to Root Beer when beer breweries needed to stay in business. Also, I'm a native Texan and I eat chili dogs with a knife and fork. Any chili dog you can eat with your hands has way too little chili on it.

I tried deep fried oreos once and thought I would die instantly of a heart attack. Lo and behold where my sister lives in Oklahoma at the state fair you can get a deep fried stick of butter. that is just absurd and even if it is delicious (which I will never know) your brain would have to tell you this is not a wise decision.
