@@dftknight I suggest you consume garlic cooked in foods, because it's just not as bad an odor as the pill supplements. The garlic pills (even the one's that claim odorless) still produce a terrible smell in the person taking them! Hey Jeff! I've now tried eating Kiwis with the skin and it's actually really nice... I love the convenience of just taking a bite without making a mess by digging at it with a spoon. It made wonder though... do you think eating the skin is fine even if it is non-organic? I've often heard the recommendation that when using orange/lemon peels for cooking or baking, you should buy them organic because the pesticides used in conventionally farmed ones saturate the skin of those fruits. Do you think this could be a concern here?

Also as a Southeast Asian, please eat your mussels by first stirfrying ginger, onions, and garlic together, then throw the mussels in with enough water, and add salt and/or fish sauce and pepper. Before it's completely cooked, add leafy greens. We like using moringa leaves or chili plant leaves for this. But feel free to use any spinach or watercress or whatever greens you like. Not only does this make it tastier and the resulting broth a tasty soup vehicle for your green veggies, but ginger is also good, and onions are a prebiotic fibre.

As a Scot who loves mussels (we grow the best in the world, IMO) I say get those mussels into curries, stir fries, soups, pastas, paella, pizzas... they go with so many regional cuisines, and it would be tragic to only have them boiled in water with no seasoning. I agree that "superfoods" is a vague term used for marketing purposes and has no specific criteria or other useful information associated with it... which is exactly what I found out when I tried to improve my diet years ago by adding more healthy food, and starting by searching for "superfoods". What followed was three days of reading nutrirional research about what made these foods healthy and designing my own diet around the scientific information provided. Calling something a "superfood" is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as the reasons why it is a superfood are provided so people can follow up and get more information. "Superfoods" are not the end, they can be a beginning.
