*Zamioculcas "ZZ PLANT" is amazinggg! If you're familiar with the snake plant (which is super easy to maintain) this plant is exactly the same way. It does wonderful in lower light settings too! Which helps me because my office isn't the brightest place. It keeps growing and growing! It's my favourite plant, I definitely recommend it!*

I like your video, but there is one mistake regarding the source of fact #3. There is no such a thing as the "University of Norway". Perhaps you meant the University of Oslo or the Norwegian University of Life Sciences? Anyway, you should double check your sources. It's very important to cite correct sources when referring to academic studies.

Im a plant seller. I have approached a few hospital about the idea of having indoor plant in patient's room. They do agree about plants can help with patient recovery but their biggest concern is the contamination from the soil. In dry or air conditioned room, soil will get lighter and dispurse all over the room thus lower down room's hygiene which then could be bad for the sick. Anyone can share some idea?
@joyoushealth
7 жыл бұрын
kenzoic I think that's an absolutely wonderful idea. As long as the soil doesn't get mouldy I don't see any issues at all. I hope you can make it happen!!

Please never ever bring plants planted in soil to a hospital! There are some kind of bacteria that develop a "shell" to protect themselves. Like this, they can sleep in soil for years and pop open again whenever they want. Patients that are immunocompromised anyways can die from an infection with these bacteria. Better bring plants that grow in water or clay granulate!
@cibe2552
6 жыл бұрын
It is thoughtful but not feasible. Patients are immunocompromised and with floating of superbugs, patients do not need to be worrying about pests/ bacteria... in soil. It would be difficult to maintain because it would require staff to water the plants. There are also patients in isolation for whatever cause, plants in this case would be costly because you'll have to discard with every isolation patient. In general, it would not work but the thought is good.

HI Joy, I would really want to keep the peace lily, snake plant & succulents like aloe vera inside my home. However, I have been told that while plants give off oxygen during the day, they actually let out carbon di-oxide during the nights, thus making them unsuitable for interiors of a home. What do you think?
@RyseMaxwell
8 жыл бұрын
That's right but certain plants like snake plants do the opposite: they provide oxygen during the night. So while some plants release oxygen by daytime and release carbon dioxide at night, you can still attain balance by also having other plants that function the opposite way.

Hello Joy! I was wondering if the plants you have in your office different than the ones at home. I would like to have more plants but know there's an extensive list of plants that can be toxic to my kitty. Do you have a favorite one that's also safe for your feline babies?
@joyoushealth
9 жыл бұрын
Elaina M. I did a quick google search and came across this link for you: www.care2.com/greenliving/24-common-plants-poisonous-to-pets.html -- a great list to toxic plants. At home I have 4 indoor plants... I actually don't know all their botanical names but my cats have never bothered with them and I've got 2 kitties. I spend more time at the office and have WAY more natural light for plants to thrive so this is why I filled my office with plants. Hope that helps!
