I am with you 100% on your number 1 of bike snobbery. I am a biker through and through, I have been a motorcycle courier and a motorcycle instructor, I think I have ridden about 200 thousand miles on bikes, but currently I choose to ride a medium sized scooter, I now hardly ever get a nod from other riders and get chuckles when I pull up at a biker pub and even comments suggesting that I clearly can't handle a "proper" motorcycle. Thanks for your comments.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video Stuart, it made me chuckle. For my part tractor drivers where I live, Wales, are generally considerate. They still leave a load of booby traps on the road though! My pet hate is cyclists, not the person going to work, just having fun or visiting the shops, I have done that on a bicycle myself. It is the ones dressed up as Spiderman that are the problem. Riding around in packs and blocking the road and, unlike Welsh tractor drivers, never pulling over to allow other vehicles to pass. These uninsured, no numberplate, untaxed buffoons will then puff and pant up the hill (820 feet above sea level) at the outskirt of my town before tearing down it as fast as they can go, hitting the town 30mph limit at 50mph or more. Sometimes at night with no lights. I love your informative videos, to me as you, "any motorcycle is a great motorcycle." On a bike rally I meet people covered in patches and badges who arrived in their motorhome, I also meet people who arrived, with luggage, on cheap commuter motorbikes. Guess who I respect and talk to more?

Oh well, I have a tractor, own horses, own a Triumph (my 2nd), and have owned a couple of BMWs. I knew what I was getting into before I moved to the Pacific Northwest of the USA so I really can't complain about the rain. I haven't melted yet (snowflake) though. I really do appreciate you shutting off your bike to let the horses by. That surely counts as considerate riding. I think I will sell my KTM and buy a Royal Enfield so I will be less inclined to ignore speed limits. I would have said Harley Davidson but... On a serious note, you didn't mention noisy motorcycles. In my conversations with non-motorcyclists that always comes up as their number one complaint about motorcyclists. And yes, I really have looked at Royal Enfields but the local dealer is a flake.

It's a rainy day here and I'm getting caught up on some of your videos. This one made me laugh quite a bit do have a lot of farm tractors in the area and most of them ride motorcycles they are very curious when it comes to bikes they actually will pull over and stop let you go by or drive on someone's lawn to let you go by...lol and I do have a pet peeve about horses they also like to leave a big pile of turd right in the middle of the road. I had a neighbor not too far away that has horses decided to ride down my road and leave a big pile of horse craft the end of my driveway I went and talked to them telling them to bring a shovel they need to clean up the mess. They laughed at me but they didn't laugh at the police officer that told them they needed to go clean it up....LOL 😊

Stuart, you have much to be grateful, here in India we don't have much horse dung but a lot of cowdung, dog potty (and unmentionables on the roadside) and not to mention huge potholes and cows and goats sleeping on the roads. But we don't have a farmer's subsidy for diesel. We have a huge tax on fuel, so much that it is about double the cost as compared to other countries. When you become PM of the world please do something about my complaints. Also make it mandatory for all people to ride a Bullet once in their lifetime at least, so that they say that they have really lived their life to the fullest.

I have to agree with you regarding horses on the highway. Anything that's on the road, mixing with other vehicles should be fitted with some form of stop switch! The snobby attitudes of the people on top them does nothing to help the situation... Only met a couple of bike snobs, they rode something made in Bologna. I was entertained :) Also I find myself agreeing to a lot (maybe I am turning to an ornery old man myself... Right about that time tbh :D ) On a serious note I think I would add cyclists to the group of people that should take at least a basic mandatory road test to ensure they understand how traffic works and how they should move on the road so they don't become a road hazard. Even people that have licences (some of them at least) seem to think that they should have the rule of the road when they are on a bicycle and no regulations apply to them... Please consider this when you assume office!

The Triumph twin cylinder engine was always great, it was reliable, it tuned well, so was used in a myriad of 'specials' most notably the Triton. Although the engine was excellent triumph handling wasn't so good... hence putting the engine in a Norton featherbed frame... The swinging arm was long and spindly compered to Nortons which caused it to weave on long sweeping bends. having said that the preunit Bonneviles were and for many the archetypical motorcycle of all time..However failure to modernise and the onslaught of the Japanese did for Triumph, has it did for the British motorcycle industry as a whole.

I must have missed this vid. I like it. A good moan is very cathartic! I think I would have cyclists at the top of my list for many of the reasons you state for horse riders, but above all that they, 99.999% of them anyway, expect all *other* road users to be responsible for *their* safety while they swan along in a self-righteous haze following none of the rules of the highway code or of common sense. In towns they do almost exactly the same journeys motorcyclists do, yet they don't need to be trained, tested, insured, armoured or taxed? They drive me bonkers.

Great vid Stuart....regarding horses just take care be polite and move on. (as I am sure you do) They have a right to the road long before motor vehicles were ever around and the riders are skilled in what they do, they cant just get on a horse and ride, they know their animals temperament and are trained to ride as is the horse for the road. The riders also take a lot of abuse from motorists because they pay road tax which is really licence duty to put a motor vehicle on public roads and not a tax at all. I know this as my daughter in law is a horse rider, I am also a life long cyclist along with my motor cycling and car driving, none of which makes me an expert but I have learned to co exist. Lets ride safe and respect others. My pet hate is motorists driving up my arse....there is often some moron that will try to spoil your day.

Re horses You obviously live in a different part of the world to me, Because no rider here can control an out of control Horse. Ive personally attended a number of accidents involving horses, On each occasion it happened because the horse panicked for some reason. on each occasion injury and substantial damage to property occurred, and on each occasion the rider had no form of insurance cover. am afraid to say your description of horse riders is the exception not the rule.

Even here in the UK we had an ancient right to carry a weapon for protection. less than 100 years ago it was permissible to carry a firearm for protection. Now its illegal to own a handgun or carry a blade over a certain length as it is considered an offensive weapon.
