Bex, The heads up display is adjustable in the settings. But thats not what i was focusing on at that point in the video ;)

I'm a Born owner and liked the video but thought it might be fair to state that the 58kW versions actually have 5 seats not 4 as the video suggested had across the board for all Borns.

The buttons actually press like physical buttons and you can tap the sliders very accurate!

Had ours for 24hrs, absolutely no issues, all these reviews that question the buttons are clowns. They click as well as slide and you have to be an idiot to clip the ones on the wheel.

Excellent detail in this video. Cupra get so much right, it's just a shame they are stuck with the ID.3 as a base car, whoever thought haptic buttons was a good idea needs firing

I agree with you about the buttons; it's a shame they designed them like this. 2 of your dislikes need clarification. Firstly you CAN adjust the height of the HUD - it is in the settings. Secondly the 2 back seats are in the v3 only. v1/v2 models have 3

I'd be interested to see what you think of the V3 vs the V2, i've just taken delivery of my V2, and one thing that surprised me was the use of 215/50/R19 eco tyres, rather than something more sporty. While I found the turning the ESC to Sport, turning off the lane assist and setting the drive to cupra/performance very much improve the ride, there is no getting away from those tyres, which are not becoming of a hot hatch! I drive a Peugeot RCZ too, and it handles much more sharply, so I do not expect the Born to be quite as sharp, and it does handle its weight well. However I think wider or lower profile tyres would help. Did you find the V3 better in this respect and also did the dynamic suspension help or make any difference?

I’ve had the V2 previously (in an older video), but without driving back to back it is hard to tell. Tyres do make a massive differences for handling, so nice to see the Continentals on the V3.

An informative and fair review. Until recently, I've only ever driven Citroens. When the engine in my last Citroen gave way, I decided to give up on Citroens - comfortable, quirky cars but just too unreliable and costly to repair at their dealerships. I now have a Cupra Born and I'm extremely happy with the car. I agree with Bex's dislikes of certain aspects of the Born, but once you've had the car for a few weeks, I have no issues with the car...so far.

I got rid of mine. Not nice! Can’t think of any 5 things which are notable as equivalent to any other car. But I can certainly think though of major faults and failings I wouldn’t expect on a new car

Our v3 77kw is coming in September...hopefully! Been waiting a long time. Couple of known issues aside infotainment, haptic buttons the car looks a good fit for us. We have an e208 as an interim car which is surprisingly good but the range is laughable. Shows 200 miles on a full charge but gets nowhere near that and we're averaging 4.3 and thats not bad. Nive review, agree with your likes and dislikes pretty much. We had a 24hr test drive and really like it. The main reason we are going electric is its almost half the price on salarie sacrifice than an ice car.

I’ve had the 58 kWh version for a couple of months now and it’s honestly the best car I’ve owned, so enjoyable to drive. Managing a range of about 260 miles, averaging 4.5 miles/kWh. Hope all goes well with yours.

I can’t believe the infotainment system is a plus! It’s an absolute nightmare. After four years driving my Tesla Model 3 my wife bought a Born as a smaller car for her. After two months we are still having to resort to the manual to figure out the most basic functions. Intuitive it is not!

Fifth seat is an option on the 77 kw version because the bigger battery take some space... (at least it is in Belgium) So you have 3 choices, 58 kw and 5 seats, 77 kw and 4 seats or 77 kw and 5 seats but no under boot.

Don't think it's even an option in the UK. Its just removed due to the bigger battery

ill never go electric Bex, after all the research the hydrogen fuel cell is the way forward, ill stay petrol its more eco friendly, I know ill get pelters for the comment but in 10 years time you will see the reason

Sorry, but neither you nor anyone else buys hydrogen fuel cell cars, it is a technological dead end for light vehicles. Petrol is not in any way eco friendly, it is poisonous from extraction, to shipping, to refinement to burning in your car
@paulgreen758
Жыл бұрын
@@charlottetaskin2310 the first point is the massive depreciation in electric cars, the second is they are more eco damaging than petrol cars, third point there is not enough materials to produce the batteries required, it’s the government jumping on a unsustainable bandwagon similar to changing everyone to diesel as it was more eco friendly and 10 years later regretting it
