What!!!! You don't get paid during delays, and you're constantly switching shifts from days to nights Ya that's the one thing I can't deal with- did it before working warehouse and rotation was monthly- couldnt pay me enough to do that again I'm single, can put up with being away days even weeks at a time, but can't do the shifting I've spent a month looking into flight schools and this might be the deal breaker I'm guessing it's pretty much same with most pilot jobs

It can be a grind to get ahead in aviation. You have to really want it to stick it out. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the candid no bs advice on this video. Maybe a point 7 and 8. Having to worry about staying healthy for the 1st class medical and dealing with airline industry volatility.

Medicals are interesting. No one ever says more than what's needed to get through it. Definitely puts many on edge. The industry is definitely cyclical; we've seen that since 9/11. Thanks for comments and watching!

Great video outlining being a pilot in Canada is not all wine and roses. "Trading your health for dollars"... gotta say there are many jobs where you trade your health for dollars... try being an Air Traffic Controller or Nurse with shift work! (the latter being exposed to all sorts of infectious diseases)! I believe there is a study or 2 documenting shortened lifespan for shift workers. At least being a pilot you do have more fun than the 9-5 cubical worker.

Very true. Many careers aren't life long positions due to the effects on your health. I wanted to share a realistic perspective of what the airlines are like. What I'm seeing online is a fairy tale. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the good overview of your work. I felt a little to disorganized and had standardization issues in Air Cavalry so went with crop dusting and later pipeline patrol. I loved it but my major concern was making as much as my wife, a teacher for 37 years.

Its great that you took time to point out the simple facts of life young pilots face ahead of them, that they can not yet know enough to realize its not all the glory job one might be envisioning when theyre young and excited about an exciting job like flying! Like going to work anywhere, you start at the bottom and either work your way up thru the ranks by sucking up the lousy sleep and food. Its almost a little scary to think of how standardized it has become, id think that might set up bordom in young people rather than them paying attention to every little detail everytime as if their lives depended on them because it really does and for a lot more people theyre flying. Never was a pilot but dreamed about it but it almost dosent sound any different from any other career really. Nice video!

Standardized and automated. It's not exciting flying. Thanks for the comments and watching!

The beauty of the job is…… you get to fly!!! Sure, there’s all that, but you get to fly. What a joy for that. It keeps. Me going!

For having a job, it's good. I wanted to shed light on the fact that it's more bus driving than the lavish lifestyle many are trying to portray. Thanks for watching!
