This was finally refreshing to have an animal video like you used to make. Because now all you do is videos on cooking. Which there are plenty of cooking videos out there. I'm interested in the farm. Just one person's opinion and that's all. Not trying to hate on your anything. Just thought you'd want to know what your subscribers are interested in.

Let's hear it for longears, yay! :-) I used to ride a draft, two mules and a mammoth donkey, and found a treeless saddle worked for all of them, with different girth straps of course. If you're riding more serious trails with a lot of elevation changes, you'd want a crupper and a breast strap too, but we were fairly level and that never was an issue. We had an Australian saddle too with full quarter horse bars, that for whatever reason fit my Belgian. So, get whatever fits, but these were just what worked for me with a mixed crew. Miss my hairy kids.

The point about the saddles is very true and important. You can make a horse saddle work if padded properly and modified, but for a genuine good fit you need a mule saddle.

What a great looking mule. I’m a new mule owner and I’m still figuring out the diet part. Mules taking their time and you needing to be patient snd slow is very true! If I catch myself being a little pushy I don’t add pressure. I just stop, and ask all over again and then my mule gives me what I asked because I had to go back to asking nicely first

Just subscribed!! So glad to have found your channel, my husband and I are wishing to go back to our families way of ranching, or in his case farming (my family raises cattle and his currently raises plants!). I was wondering though, as joey and I have discussed equines, we were both wondering if it was a better idea to commit to horses or mules? Staying with my families ranching, I haven't seen any mules were I'm from working with cattle, do you think that's something I could do with a mule? They seem so much more versatile than a horse!

@BeckysHomestead

I looked around a lot and to be honest Scott my son picked him out. I paid 600 for him which was a steal in my book. I feed him according to Meredith Hodges method. She truly is the mule queen. The first, longest and most accomplished mule breeder, trainer, and in showing in a huge range of disciplines. Riding, driving, jumping, and even side saddle. I try and learn from the best when I need to develop a new skill. ❤️😀
