It’s so obvious this squad lacks serious depth in terms of quality. The fact Ten Hag has put the faith in youngsters and has developed them into our best players this season shows he’s the long term manager of this club. I wouldn’t swap Ten Hag for anyone. From the mess he walked into to when he first joined he’s been amazing and despite so many issues this season with injuries with have another trophy and Ten Hag has actually exceeded the likes of Klopp and Arteta first seasons and he’s doing it with a mixture of players from 3 or 4 different managers. Very true. People have such short memories and the media being terrible is playing a part in the perception. There have been so many problems and such intense pressure and media coverage that most managers would have crumbled. Yet somehow in these 2 years Utd have got 2 trophies, that's more than most teams around us have in 10+ years. The choices for replacement managers leave a lot to be desired and are either inexperienced or have major drawbacks.

What I saw with gameplanning was Ten Hag insisting the team use Plan A against every single team faced he deemed to have inferior players, and unfortunately, he didn't have the personnel to execute, being a combination of injuries and just what the squad is. Against teams he thought were superior, he allowed to play more off the back foot, sit a little deeper, and this squad is able to do that. What I learned is that Ten Hag needs players for his system. I like his system, but the players aren't there yet, and that doesn't happen in two years. It takes a long time. I'm with him.

If Ten Hag does stay and turn it around, it will be one of the biggest achievements in football. I'm willing to see him work in peace first before making my mind up. I still believe he's THE guy for us. Next season I actually want us to play like we did against City. That was really a great final game to see what his intentions are for United. Hard to beat, effective, direct, high intensity, and individual freedom for creative players like Bruno to cause unpredictability & chaos. I can assure you Pep was absolutely rattled by Ten Hag during the final. It's because Pep's weakness is controlled unpredictability. He can't handle not being in control. This is what Ten Hag brings to the table on top of nurturing youth talents. This season doesn't represent him nor does it represent United. Stability with the manager is crucial when everything else is changing. It's taken 2 years and a billion pounds for Chelsea to recover from their backroom overhaul, and they've just decided to bin that progress and gamble on a championship manager. But I think the biggest learning needs to be just how disjointed the squad is and the lack of cohesion especially when you take out a few key players. You can tell watching Ten Hag interviews, he is trying SO HARD not to say his squad players are shit. But his squad players just don't match any of the attributes of the first 11, if they're even available. We've had several games this season with no striker, almost a full season with no left back, and if Antony doesn't play, United don't have one player fit on the pitch who is left footed, which has been most of the season.

Problem is the players we had that’s the style that would be most effective. The shape suffered with the back 4 not being available and the inability to be front footed, this left huge gaps between the back 4 and the forward line. ETH was told to do certain things and 1 was get back to playing a better style the Man United way and if you sat in and gave so called lesser teams the ball and played on the break that wouldn’t go down well. At least at City we had so subs! How many games did we lose in the last 15 mins. A lot of point lost. Burnley 87m 2 points Liverpool 84m 2 points. Chelsea 90+10,90+11 3 points, Brentford 90+9 2 points City 80 90+1 2 points Fulham 90+7 2 points. 13 points in the last 12 games for the last 3 months. I want ten haag to show some bottle and say he isnt staying unless he gets a new deal. I find it disgraceful how the media have run amok in the last few weeks regarding his future. Club should of announced weeks ago publicly that he is staying if he is! This is the hardest most scrutinized job in the whole of football. The only problem i have is why has it took until the last 3 games to try a false 9? We did it to great affect last season we have been so much better under this formation and it hasnt even been entertained until the last month of the season. That being said. You get somebody else in and it just starts all over again. We need solidity and structure back ten haag and let the player's know that he is going nowhere and if they dont like it they know where the door is rather than trying their luck under yet another manager!

Once again we look at a summer transfer window where we really have too much in and out business that needs to be done to believe that a competent recruitment strategy will occur. It’s always an uphill here at united which is why we are always sacrificing what needs to be done, for what can be done. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see Maguire as the starting partner alongside martinez next season, and either a new lesser signing or a promotion from the academy filling a new cb position. If you think about the injuries the cb’s we had this season, and we had 5 of them in the squad… Rashford gone? Well sancho and antony certainly should be going before him. That means if Rashford goes, antony will stay. That leaves us antony, garnacho and diallo on the wings. That is rough… I would argue we need two strikers, not one. Or maybe a player that can play both wide and up front, alongside another wide player previously mentioned. I hate to say it, but you see Mctominay staying and quite possibly being that false 9 backup just in case. Mainoo, Casemiro, Bruno, Mctominay. Is that it? Seems a no brainer to permanently bring on Amrabat and then sign one more player. Do we sell Casemiro for hopefully big cash to Saudi? I’d say so. Summary : The number one priority clearly has to be another striker, followed closely by a top class centre back although I don’t think united will see it that way. Third would be a wide player who can also play up front (like a Greenwood :/ ) and finally a midfielder. Listed in the order of what I think would be priority. A hill to climb for sure

I want Ten hag to have another year and I hope INEOS make the right decision and give him that, but what concerns me is, you look at the Brighton game and they were destroyed with injuries with most of their best players out, YET the players that came in still played the same way that De Zerbi trained his 1st choice players and they played us off the park but didnt have the quality to get it over the line, YET when we have had injuries the players that came in didnt play anywhere near the level of our 1st choice players, so is that a coaching issue, or the lack of depth (because United have a better squad than Brighton's full squad) or a combination of both?... Like I said I want to keep Ten Hag but there needs to be a defined style of play that runs through the squad and not just the 1st choice players

5 things we've learned this season: Maguire being on the field instantly improves United for set pieces - both defensive and attacking Rashford's cousin died in November - someone who he was extremely close with growing up - and so called "fans" still expect him to perform the same as last season Antony was United's best defensive winger, by a long shot, United would have conceded even more goals this year without him on the field - yet the so called "fans" only look at goals Diallo is a ball hog, yet so called "fans" think he's amazing - multiple times this season he's slowed down the run of play to dribble it sideways - causing the rest of the team to stop moving and opponent defence to reorganise United are in desperate need of defensive reinforcement - 2 CBs needed that would make you consider benching Martinez

10 Things I Learned: 1. Inability to anticipate and prepare for possible challenges that can hurt football performance 2. Huge difference between 1st team and squad players. Absence of plan B in most of the lost matches mostly depicting poor match plan and/or execution 3. Poor strategic influencing capabilities on external forces (esp refereeing decisions and PR) 4. Extreme poor performance in player recruitment and player injuries 5. Absence of internal and external clarity on prolonged ownership transfer saga 6. Lack of minimum investment for infrastructure improvement 7. Lack of planning to establish new leadership structure, mismanagement n delay in key recruitments (Ashworth fiasco) 8. Same old careless attitude in engaging with fans 9. Lack of team discipline and commitment to play for badge resulting in poor results even with low ranked teams 10. Huge disconnect among key stakeholders including fans

Lot of the folks here with the stay proposals for the great man. He kept an empty midfield for 40 games until getting thumped by palace and then went back to shutting up shop. He hade the same front six all season and can’t coach his own preferred style. What in the hell have you been watching all season. Deary, deary, me.

Let ten hag stay and see what happens next season injuries cost us this season but we still won the cup Martinez and varane together shows what we missed also having players like mctomacrap anthocrap eriksen lindelof rashford all who are not good enough or showed no desire caseimero looks tired and also needs to go martial going at last should have gone ages ago so let ten hag carry on get some better players and we shall see

I'm sorry, but I honestly think if Ten Hag doesn't change his tactics in any significant way, I think we'll still be awful next season, and he'll be sacked by Christmas. It's all well and good to blame injuries, but our tactics were dreadful this season no matter who we had available. No tactics in attack to consistently create chances for the striker. Midfield tactics left them needing to cover too much ground to attack/defend. Defensive tactics led us to the 3rd most shots conceded of ANY team in Premier League history. Our injuries were bad, but they weren't anywhere near bad enough to justify the tactical mess Ten Hag persisted with every week. 😕

Hopefully he stays. Then slight tweak to the tactics in going back to double pivot with overlapping fullbacks instead of single pivot with 1/2 inverted fullbacks. Plus good Varane and Casimero replacements and could already go a long way. If don't get hammered by injuries again.

I don’t believe that much, if any, blame is on the manager. You can’t get to B, C, D etc., without nailing down A. It worked the first year, but the players fucked it off, simple as, much like they have for the last several managers. It’s the culture at United and this is the kind of garbage that occurs whilst changing it. Bruno Fernandez is, by far, the best conditioned athlete on this squad. How often is he injured? He’s a pro, obviously, his lifestyle, dedication and awareness all factor into n his ability to perform and be available. Marcus is a million dollar talent, but a ten cent brain, and he just doesn’t want to commit consistently. I hope he is alright mentally, that the abuse he gets hasn’t ruined him, I really do, but he doesn’t help himself. United has become a place where people come and put their feet up, not live up to the absolute legends of the past. I believe in what ETH is doing, he didn’t just have a falling out with Sancho, he put his arm around him and got stabbed in the back for it. Marcus went from, yeah I fucked up, to just doing what he wanted. I shocked by any manager that can win anything in this organization, with these owners and the culture that the players created, and ETH has done it twice. The team is decent if they switch on, but that isn’t often enough.

65 injuries 35 different defensive lines you’re most experienced central defensive midfield as having to play sent about meaning talented children had to play midfield your front three are your back up front free you wanted to play Rashford and Marshall and Jaden Sancho you ended up having to play an injured or Rasma, Alejandro, too many games and burning him out Anthony, who just never kicked on and trying to play Ahmed towards the end On top of that the amount of deflected goals that cost us late, the amount of soft penalties that cost us games towards the end of the season if you look at how many penalties Manchester United conceded and when and looked at why they were conceited, it’s a joke , we had a bad champions league campaign because I were goalkeeper kept making sillier. The performances were not bad in the slightest people and knocked out early in the champions league without any contact text whatsoever. Annoys me that people can’t see the similarities. Manchester United and Newcastle United had a tremendous amount of injuries and both of them finished on the exact same points. Manchester United redeem to the sixth choice, defense and using central defensive midfielders and children in defense with no left back and conceded a lot of goals and conceded a lot of penalties, which shouldn’t of been given and people say but we are on minus go difference , the name of the club doesn’t entitle you to be perfect no matter who plays in those positions We literally had Martinez Raphael, Harry Lindelof, and Jonny Evans out at one point no Luke Shaw and no Tyrel, if you were to put that to any other club in the Premier league, losing the first choice Central defensive partnerships the second choice the third choice and having to move the central defensive midfielders into Centre about and having to play Academy players and playing inexperienced attacking line is it really surprising that we finished eighth? The same position by the way Retta finished twice with a strong squad.😊

We're too quick to give up on managers. I understand the llaying style is NOT good enough. However it takes time. Hes still playing with half a squad who are not at the level to play the football ETH would like to play. Ideally he would get this summer, with strong backing, that requires 7 or 8 out and 6 in (minimum) and qe go again next season.

It comes down to this for me. He kept the same system playing the same way, when Stevie wonder could see we were more likely to lose than win. Your at Manchester United, you simply cannot forfeit results for something else. Your in the mire, half a squad, open your eyes. That for me was pure arrogance as him over the club. Not for me that

Lol.. where did all these bots spawn from? Damn!! 1. Anyway, the injuries we experienced this season aren't a new thing. We had the same thing in Jose Mourinho's time, the only difference is that Jose pushes his players to play through injury. This just shows that there's a bigger issue here in the backroom than the manager. If INEOS are going to review anything, they gotta look into those small things first. 2. The disconnect between players and the manager also isn't a new thing. We really gotta get to the crux of it why this keeps happening throughout all of our managers. The players come to the table for a season, and then they drop off when they decide. This is not a EtH problem, we've consistently seen it over the years. It would be completely unfair if you think this started with EtH. 3. WE GOTTA GET THE RECRUITMENT RIGHT. I don't have to put any reasoning into this. 4. We gotta support the manager. We can't continue with the same cycle. United can't continue being a graveyard for talented players and managers. Managers like LVG, Jose, Ralf, EtH don't turn into bad managers overnight and all of them dropped off when they got to United. At some point United management has to take accountability for not providing a conducive environment for any manager/player to succeed. Currently, we're living on "We're United, everyone wants to play/manage United". This is absolutely true, but how sustainable is it? 20 years down the line trophiless, are we still going to say the same thing? Something needs to give. Hopefully, INEOS gets their decisions right. 5. Fans gotta start taking responsibility. Im grateful for the match-going fans who continually show their support to the players, that Crystal Palace loss ? They were amazing! But that only lasts for 90min, and then the rest of then the rest of the hours support is on social media and its absolutely horrible!! Players like Rashy are young and live on social media, and he was the most abused athlete in the world. I wonder how he deals with it. Hopefully, support on social media improves. The fans gotta do better.

Ineos going to be ruthless? Start with the glazer's and buy them out. Then, ineos need to put their money where their mouth is, get rid of trouble makers. The squad is a top 6-8 squad at the minute and europa league level. We're an 80's style cup team. If we're planning on winning leagues we'll have to see serious action. However, if we're going to have the same old/ same old as in previous years we'll ignore the glazer's incompetence that's led to FFP, cut heads across the company ( for efficiency), stick in Potter or a trainer who costs nothing, ask fans for patience, increase ticket prices in the coming years and beg taxpayers/ sponsors to fund the new arena. No dividends but management and consultancy fees for the top boys. Interesting week(s) ahead.
