Great advise Chris, I didn't know about the Advanced feature on E-Bay so i will be using that in the future.

i would add, check that it has not been stolen, miles are good and never been in an accident recorded by insurance. do a vehicle history check by car vertical , costs about 4-5 pounds and worth every penny.

Good coverage on the mechanical side, good pointers. I’d like to chime in….Also if the ad and item is too good a price, look with caution ! Don’t get pressured into buying something as it’s ‘cheap’ and below market value, and they are looking for a quick sale, that throws red flags up. Never go with cash anywhere to look at a bike if they cannot give a physical address with correct supporting paperwork. Eg, meet the seller at the garages behind the block of flats or McDonalds car park. Chances are you’ll get robbed and that number you called for the ad aren’t interested at all. Tbh, I’d rather buy anything second hand from a bona fide dealer, I don’t mind paying that bit more but it takes the agro of buying something at a bargain price and not pick up a major issue to bite me in the backside later for saving a few hundred quid in the first place. Chances are nothing will go wrong buying private but knowing my luck etc, I’d get the lemon! 👍🍻
