Bermuda green/grain guide: Use the flagstick shadow to determine grain growth; grass will always grow towards the sun, and away from the shadow. Grass color: dark green grass = slow, and silver grass = fast. That's it! Now spend a decade or two on the greens and you'll think you've got it wired, but then you'll end up at that course where none of that advice matters. The grass will just do what it wants with your ball and you're left confused and unsatisfied. Then you'll just do it again next weekend!

Just as a general statement, not meant to imply that KZitem instructors don't give excellent advice, is the fact that due to our everyday lives, 99% of us simply don't have enough time to ingrain the movements to improve our swings. These things take many repetitions, time & practice to properly implement them into our swings. It's just a fact of life that most of us can't control. So my point is, that if you're constantly frustrated with your lack of improvement, don't be so hard on yourself & have unrealistic expectations. We all want to do better in a game we love so much , but golf is a really hard game & if improvement doesn't happen quickly, it can cause nothing but frustration along with a lack of confidence in what you're trying to accomplish. You can't expect to play well if you're not touching your clubs between rounds. That's not a criticism but just a fact, so accept your bad shots, love your good ones & have fun. After all, fortunately, we're not doing this to make a living. Be well, & play your best with what you have time for.

@@mintypod5776 Having clean groves on a golf club is pretty much like putting new tires on a car. Just like your tires, if your groves are clean then they allow more "traction", per say, and allow the ball to have more control with the spin. I may be wrong on this, but I do not agree with not thinking about hitting down on the ball. I'm not a very good player at all and don't have much experience as my first round of golf was give or take 4 months ago, but i'm shooting low 80's consistently. My wedge game is by far what costs me the most shots in a round of 18 (my 120 - 30 yard game absolutely sucks). But, I would always put the ball in the center of my stance and try to get it more in the air, and I thought my club speed would do the work for the distance. I always came short, I got the height but the distance was never there. Once I started to put the ball in the back of my stance and started thinking about hitting down on the ball, my distance was so much more controlled and I still got good height along with decent spin, and I can now even stick the ball if I give it the club speed. Just my opinion, love your videos by the way, and I understand that this is different with grains and types of lies.

8:28 you really could have/ should have done a divot pattern rather than making another divot with your second shot… I really think everyone should do a proper divot pattern if they are taking 2nd or even 3rd shots on the actual course. It’s just bad edict to be marking up the course with multiple scars because you can’t make a shot you like…. Just maybe something to think about when doing wedge videos and having to take multiple shots to make a point out on the actual course. I do love the videos though and I have been watching all the old videos too as you can maybe tell lol. Keep making great videos man! Much love

Amen. You add vertical to the swing by standing closer to it. And keep the arms tucked in tight. Driver off the tee you stand further away so it’s a flatter swing, arms swing a little more freely away from the body. Either situation, make sure you take a nice hip and shoulder turn.
