The 5 Tibetan Rites are a sequence of 5 exercises which are completed in repetition up to 21 reps.
The 5 Tibetan Rites are thought to have been introduced by Tibetan monks more than 2,500 years ago. These exercise are believed to promote vitality and longevity to those who practice consistently. These exercises promote the natural energy flows within the body and are thought to promote mental clarity, balance, organ health and cognitivity, strength and flexibility.
Start slowly with maybe 2-3 repetitions and gradually work your way up to 21 repetitions. It is a good idea to rest in savasana or child’s pose between each rite.
Rite 1 - Spin to the Right.
Rite 2 - Double leg lifts
Rite 3 - Camel stretch
Rite 4 - Tabletop lifts
Rite 5 - Downward facing dog/upward facing dog
The 5 Tibetan Rites are an easy go to when you are busy and do not have the time to create your daily yoga practice. Enjoy it!
