1. Yes this is a Scindapsus pictus, not a pothos (Epipremnum aureum) - I know that :) but the tips are the same 2. You can pot up multiple cuttings into the same hole to increase bushiness even further 3. The powder I use when potting the cuttings is this: www.xtreme-gardening.com/mykos 4. The sexy apron is one I custom-designed specifically for gardening, check it out here: findaprons.com/products/harvest-apron-designed-in-partnership-with-kevin-espiritu

Don’t forget that pruning doesn’t just make it /look/ bushier but it will actually force the plant to grow in new areas rather than the existing vines you just pruned back. So in turn that makes your plant fuller! I wish I realised this sooner, once I started pruning mine it grew new shoots like crazy

I have been growing Golden & Jade Pothos for 40+ years! It goes by so fast. Periodically it just needs to be divided or propagate and start a fresh root system. I cut them back in the spring and feed with a long-acting fertilizer like osmocote and by the time they come in in the fall they are trailing 4ft or longer. Recently I expanded my collection with several other pothos , vining philodendron & scindapsus. I have started with 4" pots and plan to grow them to big hanging baskets. So fun and easy these plants!

This isn’t a trailing plant. It’s climbing plant. The reason the vine is getting long and scraggly as it trails down because it’s not supposed to trail down. Staking your Pothos to a moss pole or using 3M clips to grow your vine up a wall will prove more beneficial to the plants health. Good luck.

You can also lay the vine on the soil and pin it down to the soil with a bobby pin or a piece of wire. Once the vine is attached to the soil at the root nodes, cut between each node. I spiral my pothos vines on the surface of the soil, which serves 2 purposes. It makes my plant more full, and directs the vines toward the center so I can stake it later.

Now I’m starving for room to have more bright indirect sunlight LOL As always thanks for your knowledge and tips! 1.) What’s the major diffs if any between Extreme Gardening Mykos and Azos? 2.) Are they both a type of fert. or just a fungi that help water to soil trans? 3.) Not to be disrespectful to your sponsors of this vid, but are there more affordable soils you’d recommend to beginners that aren’t experienced enough to go all out for the more costly options? 4.) Any tips on growing thai basil from seed to harvest? 5.) I searched and not sure if I missed it but do you have a vid on Elephant Ear plants and their care? 6.) Best LED grow light you can recommend?

I’m using neem oil spray to treat but man it’s cumbersome since they’re all inside my home and don’t want to spray on the hardwood floor (drips) and such but do you have a video or do you know if there is such as a “sick” contagious house that has powdery mildew in the air?! I don't know if anyone has heard of this before. I had a snow pothos on a low shelf of a table, next to a window (had plenty of light). One morning I came downstairs and the plant was gone! The pot was there, the dirt was there, a little dirt around the table. But the plant itself was just not there. On further inspection it appeared the stems were (chewed?) clean through to just under the dirt. All that was left were roots. Did a mouse sneak into my house in the middle of the night and eat my pothos? There are no pets in my home. I'm in Maine and it's late October so it's getting cold. This time of year a few spiders come into the house - maybe a fly or two - because it's cold out and they're dying. Just trying to get warm. But I've never seen a mouse in my house (lol). I don't really know what happened. I can't figure it out.

My scindapsus pictus exotica doesn't grow at all!!! I bought a plant of 4 leaves. But there was absolutely no growth. After a month I checked the root system. It was good and roots were coming out from 3 nodes. So I divided the whole plant into two. Repotted in a smaller pot as the nursery pot was too big! But nothing is happening at all! Please someone help me.

Hi! Just received my first pothos golden cutting, which was rooted just in water. I’m trying to decide wether I should use leca or some other kind on potting soil. Can someone please give me an advice? I’m really new to this type of plants and I don’t want to mess it up🥺 P.S.:I promise to give updates if someone is interested. All the best wishes to every plant parent🤗

My scindapsus have never thrived at my house. I don't over water, I provide adequate light I feel. I prune sometimes. It's just not my favorite plant. But when I see others' I feel jealous! I can't grow them well for some reason.

Oooh [shakes head in disbelief] that was one nasty hatchet job on that lovey, happy contented plant (straight from the store by the looks of it). Little tip if you want a really big Scindapsus buy three nice full ones (many stems) and get yourself a nice wide pot and plant all three in it. Dont just pour potting soil over it like this either, you need to gently firm it down between or around the plant(s). Reason I say buy three is because it will always be uneven if you do it the way shown, one side much much shorter than the other as the cuttings will not catch up to the other side as it also grows of course.. If you want to make a big pot with your existing dangler start again from scratch. Chop the entire thing up and plant a whole pot of just cuttings out of it, as big as you like. Most will strike if you keep it humid and warm under some sort of baggie. Not overly wet not dry, it should be fine without any more attention as the baggie keeps it just right mositure wise as none of it can escape the bag. You should also use your favorite fungicide one time, be that an organic one or chemical.

This habit to call everything else but pothos a pothos makes it pretty complicated to search for info about pothos. The actual rare plant pothos:-D Its so easy. Scindapsus, epipremnum, pothos. They dont even look alike:-D

Thanks for these tips. I love pothos plants but after a while, they tend to decline. The leaves become yellow, this extends to the stems and the plant is clearly failing. Believe me, I do not overwater. I tend to regain plant health by reverting to pruning and water culture. Then I repot. Am I the only one to experience this problem? What is the cause of this problem? Any info would be appreciated

SOS.... so I got a Pothos plant and accidentally left it in my car in the hot summer heat and humidity. When I returned to my car some of the leaves turned black and were wilted. Some have remained wilted and some dried up, and the rest of the plant looks completely healthy. What should I do about the black wilted leaves? Should I cut them off, if yes where do I cut them from?

My Pothos (epipremnum ) had dark green leaves but now the become whitish...how can I make then darker again? I was told to avoid direct sunlight so I keep it in the leaving room with some light coming through windows...

me confused. in "4 Houseplant Myths We Should Stop Believing" you state there is no 'dormant' season as a houseplant doesnt experience cold weather etc inside. yet at the end of this vid, you mention the 'growing season'. which is it? houseplants never rest, go dormant or they do?

Can you maybe help me? I got a pothos about 9 months ago and it was growing just fine, producing new leaves regularly. But then the leaves started to curl up and I have not managed to find out what I'm doing wrong. It looks so sad :(

My propagating leaves were doing so well while they were in water, but now that I transferred them in soil they've completely stopped growing (it's been a few months) and one of the three pots I had filled with rooted cuttings is all droopy and dying.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong!!!

Sorry I am blowing you up with questions and comments but I just found you so I am binge watching! In another video you stated that these are tropical plants, so they are always growing. But then here you said something about fertilizing during the growing season. My pothos and Scindapsus seem to shoot out new growth year round. So I am confused. When do I stop fertilizing?

In theory never, if you are providing them with good growing conditions year-round - most don't have grow lights so growth slows in the winter due to less light + growing out of normal season

The thumbnail showed a Scandapisus Pictus, which isn’t actully a pothos despite being called “Satain Pothos” ! Just so you know!

I know this video is old but if you have an answer, that is amazing! Would the powder you put in to help the roots take faster; does it encourage fungus gnats or it’s a negligible difference for them? I’ve been wanting to try that stuff but I’m afraid of giving fungus gnats more of a food source
