This video is the second video in the "Improve My Car Sketch" series. The video features a car design by Josh from London, England. Josh is 14 years old. He sent in a sports coupe of his own design.
In the video important aspects of car design drawing are covered such as making sure your car is on a flat ground plane, how to get the correct proportions for your drawing, why it's important to draw from your shoulder, when to draw from your shoulder and when to draw from your hand and the importance of organizing your design elements so they make sense.
Josh's design is very graphical so the importance of using a soft pencil is also discussed in capturing the lights and darks of the design theme. A soft pencil, when used for car design drawing is very helpful in developing you ability to vary the line weights. Using different line weights is an essential skill to develop for an aspiring car designer.
If you have a drawing you would like featured as part of the "Improve My Car Sketch" series, please send it to michael@howtodrsawcars.net. Please let us know your age, where you are from and what your goals are. Thanks for watching!
