What is the role of 'd' in finding depth of water cushion?. Equation has only h1 & h2., while substituting i got the answer -0.15m. Not 0.4m.

sir for 6 cumecs and 10 cumecs how many notches we should assume?

Generally, 2 to 3 cumecs of discharge are allowed through ONE notch.

The U/S length of the wing walls is calculated by considering the splay of 1:! of the wing wall and allowing the wing wall to be 0.5 m deep into the top width of the bund. The D/S length of the wing wall is equal to the length of the cistern. The length of returns is usually 3 to 5 meters.
