yes, I know the sound on the "guests" is a little off. Part of that is because of trying to find a backdrop I could use where the acoustics weren't to horrible and that other noises wouldn't drown it out. In the future I really am hoping to get a greenscreen that will give me some other options for filming in a much more sound friendly environment.

OMG! I don't know about Sir Willow, but that really irritates me as a guest and a former cast member. I find that the older I get, the less tolerant I get of that stuff. The worst, in recent memory, was during the World of Color at DCA when this group of young adults pushed their way into the viewing area and started talking extrememly loudly about work while the show was taking place. You get it alot during rides like Pirate's, too. But, I always feel bad for the bands and musicians in theme parks because people almost act like they aren't there. I've heard people scream to be heard over the Dapper Dans and the New Orlean's Square bands.

SirWillow I worked at an Iowa theme park as a rides assistant. Adventureland was the title. I've had many many "unruly" people come up to me. For example; Adventureland, like most theme parks have a handicap safety policy. We'd call a couple supervisors in, the ride would be stopped temporarily and we'd help the guests on the ride safely. If they wanted to, we gave them a chance to ride again. In one instance, we were particularly busy at a river rapids ride The Raging River. The line stretched farther than i could see. Understandable because it was hot. But we had a very nice, patient and polite handicapped woman and her spouse come in. We helped them on and sent them off. Not soon after i hear a masculine, southern drawl-ed voice say "Why did you let those people cut in line?" I had to respond with, "it's for safety, sir." See, to get to one side of the loading dock, there was a bridge that overlooked the conveyor of boats. That same bridge had a staircase instead of a ramp. There was no way a wheelchair would safely get up those steps. The man proceeded to claim, "Well shoot, if i had known that, i'd become a cripple a lot sooner." Thankfully, the nice and patient handicapped woman wasn't within earshot.

One of my college friends was a summer intern at a local amusement park where he worked a popular attraction. One afternoon, they had a guest come in with a wheelchair who needed to transfer. Procedures was that transfers and their parties are boarded and unloaded first in case they need assistance. My friend was assisting when this really rude guest tries to get on with his family. He stops him and says "Please step behind the safety lines and then we will board you and your family." Guest: We're trying to get on! Friend: I'm sorry, but we need to get her situated first Guest: But we've waited all day! Friend: I'm sorry, sir but it's standard procedure. Guest: I'm good friends with your manager! If you don't let us on right now, I'm going to get you fired! Now my friend takes out his radio and proceeds to call his manager (both because the situation was getting hairy, where the manager needs to step in and to call this guy's bluff). "Yeah, I'm with a guest who says he's a friend of yours..." and gives a detailed description. Meanwhile, everyone else is glaring at this guest for being nasty and the guest is turning white. While they were waiting for the manager's reply, the guest turns chalk white, grabs his family and gets out of there.

Especially when it ruins it for their kid. I was at a festival with kids' activities that you bought coupons for. One was nail tattooing. So the little girl gave her coupon and got her tattoo, came to show her mother - who stormed back to the attendant because she only gave her one tattoo. The attendant said "yes, she had only one coupon." The mother threw the rest of the coupons at the attendant, took the kid and stormed out. That poor little girl!

Yeah, just yesterday I was at Efteling in the Netherlands and there was a quiet boat ride we wanted to went on. The park was very empty but the ride had about 15 minutes of waiting time because they were letting every guest decide if they wanted a boat for themselves or with other guest (so you can guess that every boat was filled with 2-4 people) and right behind us was a mother with her kids and all of them were just coming way too close all the time and when me and my gf finally got to board guess who wanted to join us in the boat. Luckily we could tell the employee that we wanted to be alone and (by just yelling "NO" when they came close to our boat xD) it was kinda funny to see how dumb her face was when she was told that by the employee that she has to wait for the next boat because she was not realizing what was happening (she didn't even recognized our scream).

What really cracks me up about the "know it alls" when those of us who really know a lot about a particular theme park is to just listen to them get everything wrong. For example I grew up with Busch Gardens since the 60's and remember when it was just that, Gardens and the only thing you paid for was the tour of the brewery and it was only 50 cents at the time. I worked there in the 70's, my Mom worked there around the same time Sir Willow did as did my Son, I have enjoyed the friends and family benefits and have been an paying annual pass holder for years since she left. watching it morph into what it is now. I just keep my mouth shut sometimes laughing out loud and on occasion correcting them. But most the time just let them make a fool of themselves.

The last guest you mentioned struck a chord with me. My husband and I visited WDW for our honeymoon and we visited all the Princesses. We were the last in line for Aurora, in "France," this particular day, and the Character Host was this sweetie elderly man. This mother and daughter came over to try to stand in line, but the Character Host told her the line was closed. She became SO UPSET! She tried to argue that she should be in line because she came all the way from across the park. When it was still a no go, the mother loudly said to her daughter, "COME ON, YOU DON'T GET TO MEET SLEEPING BEAUTY BECAUSE ADULTS ARE IN THE LINE," and swiftly took her crying daughter away. The Character Host was visibly embarrassed, and we tried our best to cheer him up. It ended up being (in my opinion) a pretty awkward picture of us with Aurora, anyway.

I work at a local theme park called Cliffs and like all others we have rules for height regulations. So this one ride that has a rule that you have to be at least 48in. Unless with an adult. Now I had a mom once get to the front of the line only to ask if I would ride with her son since the ride only fit two people and she was going with her daughter. I politely told her no and that he'd have to wait until she could go with him herself. She then began to cuss me out saying how she couldn't just leave her son all by himself while she went with her daughter. She then proceeded to ask if I'd at least watch him while she was on it, and I politely told her no since it's not my job to watch your kid, I'm not a babysitter. Anyway this argument went on for a few minutes until security happened to be walking by and escorted her away. In the end it turned out okay but geez what a headache that lady was!

It can be a great way to spend the time waiting in line sharing information that is accurate and relevant. It can be that you only know half of the story and the group next to you happens to only know the other half of the story, which could turn into an interesting conversation on both sides rather than standing in silence. Or I've had where my own group is having a discussion that others in line show interest and ask questions.

One of my coworkers had someone ask her, "so, when you say the museum is closing, what does that mean? Does that mean you're not letting anyone else in?" We have an interactive exhibit at my workplace that needs an employee to run it. So often I'll see people undo the stanchion, climb right on and get confused about what to do and why it isn't working. Sometimes people actually read the sign, but miss the sign next to it that says an employee is needed to run the exhibit. My "favorite" is when people walk into the special exhibit hall ten minutes before we close and get confused that the hall is closing with the rest of the museum. One time a family walked in 10 minutes AFTER we closed and I said that we were closed. Their response, "Well, you could have said something." Well done.

I was in line for Seven Dwarfs' Mine Train at the beginning of the day (first train of the day!) and my party was split in half between this stuck-up mom and her daughter. I asked politely to get ahead of her because 1. She had cut in front of our party and 2. The majority of my party was ahead of her, but her response was "No, I know what you're trying to do. I ain't letting you cut me." "Ma-am, I'm sorry but these really are my brothers. We'd like to enjoy this ride together, could you please let me by?" "No I ain't letting you cut. I know what you are. You millennials think you can always get your way. (to daughter) See? Some people have no respect." At this point the line was moving so fast that it would have been impossible to for the rest of my party to move behind these people. This lady obviously wasn't going to budge, so we decided have some fun with it. Once on the train, the rest of my party turned around in their seats and started talking loudly to the rest of us, making it very clear that we were all in the same group. The look on that woman's face was priceless.

I am always annoyed by a sub-class of the Know-it-all. The spoiler. The one who goes on Haunted Mansion and does the entire stretch room talk loudly. The one that is taking flash pictures on the dark rides. The ones talking about the characters in a way that can spoil the effect of the characters. I also find it funny the know-it-alls that don't know the facts. I have been going to DisneyWorld since the day before the official grand opening (my grandparents were Orlando residents before Disney came to town, their first house is literally under I-4) when I was 4 years old and on average once every 3 years, so even though I wasn't a cast member I picked up some facts. I am someone that loves to study how things really work. I loved the guy that was telling me how he could barely feel the stretch room descend (uumm that is DisneyLand not DisneyWord) and things like that.

One thing that really grinds my gears when going to a theme park is when I’m walking along and I’m walking behind someone and then all of a sudden they just stop right in the middle of the walkway and I bump into them or I have to weave around to avoid bumping into them it’s super irritating I mean I understand it’s crowded but if you have to stop I wish people would just move to the side to stop

Years ago at EPCOT back when they use to have the pink flamingos near the Odyssey restaurant a young boy went up to a street sweeper and ask "What to the flamingos do?" We learned that last minute story "the hard way" in 2000! - When my parents got married they had gone to WDW for their Honeymoon (so they could bring me along - I was 8 years old then). It was one of, if not my favorite Disney trip we had ever taken - we went to all the parks, had park hoppers, went to as many meet and greets as we could, I had two filled autograph books by the time the trip was over! However, on our last day we remembered we forgot to meet the most important character...the boss! We hadn't met Mickey (yet!) Note: My Dad loves meeting Mickey, and seeing him turn into a little kid when we meet him (and now that Mickey can talk back ...I wish I recorded my Dad and Mickey's conversation, and my Dads post Mickey meet reaction... it was adorable! It was such an awesome memory.) Anyway, we didn't have much left to do at this point of our trip in 2000, and at this point we were kind of just strolling through the parks. After what felt like hours of wandering EPCOT and ten days worth of magic my 8 year old distribution of pixie dust was wearing really thin. I was a very bored, very tired, and all I wanted was to meet Mickey at that point... We walked around the park one...last...time... In perfect view of the EPCOT ball there he was FINALLY! He was in his Sorcerer outfit, and there was about a 15-20 person line for his picture. My family and I got in it...(I'm pretty sure we ran up...and may have spooked a few guests.) I was jumping excited, and ready!! Then...I saw the cast member with one of those portable cue line ropes...and my heart sank...he was gonna cut the line off! I looked behind us, and I could see another family trying to rush up, and the CM cut the line off BEHIND us! We were the last family the particular hour/shift/day to meet him there! -- Watching that disappointed family leave behind broke my heart but, we got OUR Meet and Greet! We even got to mingle with Mickey post our picture and share lots of hugs. We got so, so, so, so lucky! Ever since then, we always make Mickey a priority within the first two days of our stay. We always planned pretty well with our trips but, we didn't go crazy. (You can't be to time constructed in WDW or else you'll ever see what you want too, and enjoy it!) That extra step of just looking up times, or planning just a little bit in advance really does add to the magic.

Honestly I was completely spoiled by Disney theme parks. Here in St. Louis all we have is Six Flags. I went with a group of other kids (in high school.) Half of us had season passes that came with free admission coupons for one other person if used with your season pass. We get there and the park tells us that the coupons were ONLY for father's day even though they didn't mention that anywhere on the coupon. Management told us there was nothing they could do. We all went home and I didn't visit Six Flags for years because of it. Disney is cleaner, cheaper, and the cast members are so much more polite!

Kathy Murguia considering i have a hiatal hernia that would require literal surgery to fix, i don't have a choice but to ask if foods are spicy. if i order something that doesn't specifically state it's spicy, and then it turns out to be spicy as all hell, i'm regretting it for the rest of the day and all night while i'm trying to sleep, as stomach acid regurgitates into my throat, burning my flesh and creating scar tissue that will later need to be removed via surgery just so i can swallow food. that's what happened to my dad, and i inherited the condition from him. someone asking if food is spicy is not necessarily stupid, maybe they have a condition that disallows them from eating spicy food and they're just being careful for the sake of their own health. you should be more empathetic.
@SirWillow

Flannel pillowcase - except that Mexican food (and Thai as well) is generally spicy and the answer will almost always be yes. A better, different question to ask in your case would be to ask if they can make it without the spice, or what on the menu isn't spicy. My wife has some similar diet issues, and we love Mexican food. So when we eat, we never ask if it's spicy. Wrong and silly question. Instead we explain the diet issues to the server and then ask, "what on the menu can you prepare so she can eat it?" That's a question that will get you a much better answer. :-)
@flannelpillowcase6475

SirWillow well i usually just pick something on the menu, ask if it's spicy, and if the answer is no i order it. if the answer is yes, i pick something else. that's what's worked for me for the last 15 years. but thanks for the advice anyways.

Ahhh, venting about guests. When I used to work at Knoebels people would always spread bogus stories about how someone flew out of the Phoenix or how Hershey/Six Flags/Cedar Fair bought the park out and are going to either close it or start charging admission. As for clueless people my favorite was, "do you have bathrooms?" No sorry, you've got to go in the creek. They'd also get mad that the pool wasn't included in the free admission or that you'd have to pay for the rides (OR EVEN FOOD) even though there's free admission. Like come on, you can't have literally everything for free. Or someone would show up during a flood and get mad that the park was closed even though the water is chest deep by the carousel. My best rule breaker moment was when I was driving the tram. These kids kept jumping off and on while it was in motion. I warned them that this was not a ride and not to do it again or I'd kick them off. They did it again. I didn't just kick them off though, I waited until I was at the far end of the parking lot then I kicked them off. They had to walk all the way back to the park. They saw me later on when they were leaving. They didn't even attempt to get on the tram :P. We used to also always get people in complaining that they couldn't go look for a closer parking space (at Knoebels you get parked if you come in early in the day because their lot is a giant grassy field and it would be complete chaos if there were no parking staff) and no matter how you tried to explain they were EMPLOYEES going to EMPLOYEE PARKING they just wouldn't listen. The Lost and Found was sometimes a pain in the ass too. People couldn't understand why we couldn't stop a roller coaster to go looking for their precious hat even though the park will ship your lost item back to you free of charge even though you were stupid enough to wear a hat on a roller coaster in the first place.

She ran over my foot, I was crying for maybe 5 minutes. And the worst part about that is she didn't even notice! No "I'm so sorry" or anything like that. People on scooters have to Pay Attention to where they are going especially in a large crowd with many children. I know people also have to pay attention but just seriously.

I got one! Sounds like a bit of a stretch, but what would annoy me as a cast member (if I were one, I’m not, mind you) would be if I was tasked with controlling a ride and some kid asked me if I could let him or her press the buttons and help control the ride. That would be a definite NO, for a multitude of reasons. After telling the child that they couldn’t help control the ride, I would then point to my name tag and say “See this, you can’t control this ride unless you have a name tag like the one I have here. That’s the rule! If I don’t follow it, Mickey would be very upset and I would not have a job in the most magical place on earth!” This was actually an unrealistic fantasy I had when I was a kid. I wanted to help control the ride, as well do other things similar, but I didn’t dare ask as something was telling me not to.

I used to work as life guard at a large outdoor pool. These types of guests were all too common with us as well. Especially the 'chosen' ones to whom rules did not apply. I remember those endless discussions with dads all the time, about why exactly their little baby girl had to be allowed to use the slide without chaperon. - "...But she was sliding here all day last week!" - "Maybe. (I doubt it.) But last week it wasn't me who will go to jail if she breaks her neck. Won't happen, Sir!" One day I saw a group of youngsters trying to shove this giant contraption made of pool noodles, duct tape, rubber boats and a giant rubber duck, through the entry gate right into our queue. - "What do you mean, 'no objects'? This isn't an object. See, it is almost as large as the slide itself!" - "GET THAT THING THE HECK OUTTA MY SLIDE!!!" There was even an incident where I had to sprint all the way through the entire complex after I had seen a dad from afar, who had lifted his daughter right over the gate with a big 'closed' sign in front of a slide. I sprained my arm and caused a power outage in half the facility when I literally jumped onto the control panel, desperately trying to get those pumps running before that poor girl's skin would be ripped from her back. I am thankful till today that it somehow worked out. Then there were those teenagers of course, who all the time were greatly amused by watching that stupid life guard screaming his head off while they were chilling right in the danger zone below the diving towers. The single most annoying guests though, were the parents who happily watched their little brats play their most beloved game: teasing the life guard. Imagine standing in the brightest sun for twelve hours a day with not a single bit of shadow anywhere near you. You are wearing your last dry set of gear after you had just pulled out that idiot who had tried to go down the slide in a handstand. Now you are trying to watch that oblivious woman walking up the opposite side of the pool, who is going to get a wet surprise staring at her phone in just a couple of seconds. And you have spent both of your breaks bathing in sun cream, in the slight hope that you would for once not be completely toasted in the end of the day. Sure the one thing you cherish the most in that situation is a horde of children jumping around you, shouting bad words at you and constantly splashing you with water. Were some fun times back then :-D

I'm a truck driver. One of my biggest pet peeves is people that get snooty because you don't speak their native language. Long story short, I was told that I should learn another language if I could. For the next thirty minutes I gave them a piece of my mind in Choctaw, German, French, Italian, and American Sign Language. I had friends growing up that were from the tribe, stationed in Germany for four years, and I have a deaf friend. I have a lot of patience with someone that is new to the country or isn't fluent in English, but getting snooty about it, take that crap elsewhere.

Great video as always! I've never worked at a theme park, but as someone who has been to Six Flags Over Texas a lot, I can say that the most annoying to me are the teenagers and adults who will mow little kids over to get to the rides first.

Oh my gosh! "That is just jacked up!" I died lol! People say that all the time. I just want to say, "How about you get in the six foot tall duck suit and stand in the sun for 'just one more person'?"

You nailed this, spot on. I worked at Magic Kingdom, Tomorrowland attractions. I have had every kind of guest you described. I did think of one more kind of guest.....the one that is entitled to everything for free. Yes we have problems with the rides sometimes, yes they are working on it, no I can't get you a free hotel room because you are inconvenienced by ONE ride being closed for a short time. Every little thing that does not go their way, they expect to be compensated by getting them everything for free.

I love the people that play "chicken" with you as your trying to walk around the park. If you don't get out of their way fast enough they slam right into your shoulder....
