What a beautiful arrangement! I really loved the Variation 4 in C# minor - it adds a lot of contrasting emotions to the mix (kind of like the famous Var. 18 of the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini) I've always been a big fan of variations. The theme is like a blank canvas and you can create so many different paintings on it.

I also absolutely love the 18th variation from Rachmaninoffs Rhapsody because it felt like it opened a whole new world with the introduction of a major key. I was also totally mind blown when I found out that beautiful melody was a "upside-down" variation of the original Paganini Melody theme because without looking at the sheet, you would never notice it

Yesterday I visited the lovely woman who was my piano teacher for four years at her hourse. She was in connected to those ICU machines with several family members along her. In her room I played Liebestraum n°3 at her side, with the repetitive beeps and sounds of the machines keeping her alive accompanying the piece. Then, after some talking downstairs I played once again in the piano where she had been teaching me before the pandemic (after we continued having class online)... I didn't have much time to chose, I thought of playing Chopin's first ballad, one of the last pieces she taught me, which made sense considering how it related with Shigatsu and death. But I chose a piece she never taught me and had never heard me play to be my goodbye, a piece that I would have never been able to play without her teachings, a piece that merged both the classical, older world she lived in, and the love I bear for all kinds of music and the world of anime. A piece I see as symbol of rebirth. Today at 8 a.m. she died, while being close to her loved ones. I'd like to thank you Animenz, for making me be even more passionate for piano than I was before, for making me get better one step at a time to be able to play your pieces, for how thanks to them I was able to play the songs she loved to hear. Thank you for letting your arrangement of Lit be my goodbye to her.

These variation be like my emotion when I'm watching the movie, there was scene of happy, sad , anger , confuse, struggling. Basically, this movie reflects the facts of reality world, sometimes a person, no matter how much difficulties she/he is facing, they kept silence, and what they really wanna receive from you was " Yes, I'm here"..... The buildup in the end really hits me. *Thank You Animenz! Love this!

I haven't commented in a while due to being insanely busy lately, but for this one, I absolutely had to find the time. I have always, always loved your classical-inspired arrangements - creating something like this feels like such a feat to pull off, and I've only ever seen you truly get the feel right, combining the two. I listened to this one while it was premiering and I just had this massive grin on my face, thinking, "That's it!!!". I've missed this style of arranging from you, though I guess this one is next level in the classical influence department! And the melody of "Lit" fit so perfectly in every variation I'm still in awe. I don't think it makes much sense for me to take apart little segments since every variation is so distinct, so I'll just focus on that. 0:47 The first variation serves as a perfect introduction to let us know that yes, we're in classical territory now 1:23 okay THIS ONE, combining the context of the movie with the playful take on the melody honestly made me think "bittersweet," which is probably my single most favorite feeling something can evoke, absolutely loved this variation 1:55 this one is just gorgeous, flowing arpeggios, so pleasant to listen to 2:38 still in the third variation, that ending when the melody comes together is so satisfying so pretty, I love it 2:56 this is exactly the contrast I needed, my classical knowledge is extremely limited so I can only say that I love how it sounds, and I really, really love how that one sounds 3:54 oh variation V... we're really in it now with that build up 4:20 watch me break down into uncontrollable sobbing (internally), I'm serious though I loved that climax SO MUCH listening to it makes me emotional and I keep listening to it again and again 4:37 THOSE RUNS and the whole thing honestly ;-; just the whole thing I love it so much I stop being coherent when trying to convey it, orchestra but it's just a piano 4:57 and just this once I wish that part from before carried just a bit longer, maybe for another repeat because I love it so much and I don't want it to end, but that's just me being greedy haha 5:08 this is a lovely ending though, fitting end of a musical journey If I heard this live I'd be cheering through tears by the end, honestly. Also I LOVED the little sheet music snippets included! Helped visualize what was going on, and I'm sure whoever ends up transcribing this one is going to appreciate it! Also really liked the insights you put in the description, always great to read up on the thoughts behind a piece To finish this off, this is definitely one of my favorite arrangements you have ever done. Hooray for classically inspired music!! I'd love more special-type arrangements in this style!

Wow. Absolutely love the creativity in the different variations! As one who is personally biased towards grandiose arpeggiated styles, Variation III and V are my favorite! Moreover, even with distinct styles, each variation seamlessly meshes together smoothly, culminating in the wonderful climax. As always, the Animenz attention to detail in making the countermelodies (red and blue in this instance) stand out is unparalled. I would definitely love to see more arrangements consisting of variations off of a single theme in the future! Thanks as always for the wonderful and thoughtfully arranged music 🙂

This format feels much more interactive than before! Takeaways: - Thema = the introduction part of a classical piece (a short melody) - Harmonic progression ending in a subdominant (IV) invites further musical development - The 1st variation often starts w/ a fast right hand melodic variation - Staccato rhythm in the left hand can make the variation sound playful - Big arpeggios spanning across the whole keyboard is common in romantic era music - A variation with rhythmic syncopations can nicely veil the melody a bit - 3:14 two melodies can be made to intertwine somehow… おしえて ください - Left hand triplets can be used to create a build-up - A melody can be veiled in chords - An ascending scale can be used to lead up to the climactic orchestra style variation - The thema may be played at the end to add a friendly finish. What defining features do the "Animenz orchestra style” entail? 🤔 --> is it the LH jumps + RH5 melody + RH other fingers doing embellishments?
