Gill Lyon no, you don’t take the plastic bit off, push in the stick plastic end first into the wide end of the dryer egg.

I found the laundry egg is only effective on lightly soiled laundry that is then dried outdoors. Perfect for bedding in the summer. It didn't work on stains and smelly items didn't smell fresh after washing with unscented eco egg.
@bellagreen6660

They say this in instructions, no heavy soiled laundry, not filling your machine to much and moderate temperature. Also don't "forget" it in there for the drying cycle (I've forgot a few time) because every drying cycle will "kill" 5-10 uses from your egg, you will see the pellets are much smaller

I got mine from Aldi and used it twice so far, Sadly I had already bought my powder the week before I saw it. I was impressed. Everything was clean and it smelt normal to me. After I hang it in garden to dry nothing smells for long anyway.I shall def keep using it and replace the little balls inside when it runs out. I do not have a tumble dryer so it's on the clothes horse or on the outside line to dry

@@KyrosHouseCycling used for how long ? since they claim that is sensor dryer compatible, does it smell enough ? there is lots of warnings about using esential oils in dryer due risk of fire. Haha Whenever my mom does a sweater for me, The smell is soo strong and lasts months....I got a call from lady with a UK accent to ask if I wanted Lavender as they were out of Unscented in the 720 size. I was hesitant but she reassured that it was subtle. I just got it today, quite fast shipping UK to Winnipeg, Canada in a week. $54cdn incl shipping. Just in time for a load! I also have 3 wool dryer balls that work awesome for diapers/sheets/things I cannot air dry. I have noticed 13 little plastic bags that hold the pellets that are not ECO, should have been biodegradable.

Bob Ranch I didn’t know about the pellet bags not being bio degrade-able.. I think I broke the bag on the first review so I just tipped them into the egg. Glad you like the product though!

I have used mine for nearly three years on the same original package with refills in it. I love the washer egg.. There are no suds as there is no soap. . What suds you may see is most probably left over in clothing from prior washes.
@KyrosHouseCycling

Lise' Stanley yeah that would seem to fit my observations, it’s quite different to what you would normally be used to, with no suds you wonder what is going on but it works and that’s the main thing. 👍

pellets useless after around 5 washes max before you need to empty it and refill with a couple of fresh bags. So only does maybe 30 -35 washes. NOT 720.

You should try washing one load in just plain water and another with the egg and see if there’s any difference in cleanliness. My bet is there is not.

Water is a very good solvent. So people have the impression this "snake oil" is working. But it's just plain water and the bashing of the ball which has a cleaning effect.
