One thing I like on the design of your stop is that the track knobs are easy to replace. The ones that come with it are good, but since the slots you used are so generic I can put in other jig hardware when I need to use something different like the heads of 1/4-20 bolts. For this reason I've found it very useful for custom jigs.

Five more excellent suggestions for tools that make you a more efficient and productive woodworker. I am very thankful that I followed your advice purchased a Home Right Sprayer. It is an unbelievable sprayer. It's easy to use and easy to clean up after using. The Rigid oscillating sander is an excellent suggestion. It is more powerful than most sanders and carries a lifetime warranty. Thanks for another useful and enjoyable video.

Good job Matt! Quick tip for you. If/when you build a flip-top cart for your spindle sander make sure you plan for storage for the washers, sanding sleeves and belt sander. All that stuff is on board UNTIL you flip it over! Don't ask me how I know!! :) The Katz-Moses stop block is a great product. I've had one for about six months, love it, need to order a second one. :)

Starting out I bought a small 1/3hp pancake air compressor, because honestly it's what I could afford. It worked fine for tacking quarter round in place, but when I bought my sprayer I didn't realize it wasn't big enough. Knowing there's an affordable electric sprayer out there is great news for me. As we all know hand painting takes up valuable build time. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate all of your videos.

I have used my RZ mask for a couple years now. I usually run the charcoal filters irregardless of what I am doing. That way I don't have to change filters when staining or painting. Just picked up two new masks as my old one had started showing its age. Highly recommended one to keep the lungs safe. I picked up a High Volume Low Pressure sprayer after watching a Katz Moses video. Greatest thing ever for tight corners where a brush or sponge applicator won't go. He even had a link to the set-up he currently uses. I was using a piece of PVC with sandpaper glued to it for curved pieces. Works well for small projects, but ultimately took way to long. I search FB marketplace all the time for tool sales and was able to pick up a used spindle sander, talk about a game changer. Definitely one of those things where you ask yourself, "Why didn't I get this sooner"? Thanks for the great content 👍

I have really enjoyed this series of "five things needed in my shop" my comment about the belt / spindle sander is.... I didn't research any belt Sanders, I got a Harbor freight sander . . . THEN watched the "how to use the belt sander" The name brands travel opposite of Harbor freight. The dust collection is over 90% Efficient on mine. My sander dust port is at the end not the rear. The features are so similar, after watching KZitem of projects people using other brands, I am so glad I got the Harbor freight model. Thanks for all your hard work doing these videos.

I second your opinion on the belt/spindle sander. I have the WEN, which is excellent and a little less money than the Ridgid. They are all the same. The Ridgid is a little wider. They come in many brands, with different color plastic, but they all seem to be made in the same plant in China. It is the one tool that I use every day! Buy It!

Love the Katz-Moses stop block! I use an airless paint sprayer, and it works wonderfully as well. I think a pneumatic sprayer might work better, but I haven't compared them. As for oscillating spindle sanders, they are so awesome!! I bought the rigid oscillating sander to make sanding the edges, rounded corners and chwmfers on cutting boards I've been making. One issue I've had with the belt part is that it tends to be a little too quick aggressive causing the workpiece to kick out of my hands and remove too much material even with fine grit belts. I've tried to set up a stop using the miter track and such but nothing has really helped. I'm using the belt cause I want flat edges but wondering if I should be using the spindle instead. Another issue is that while it has a miter slot (which is why I chose it over the triton or Wen models) it has the same issue as I've had with my Bosch RA1811 router table in that the s,ot is way too wide, where I've had to add at least 40 thousands of UHMD tape to even get close to getting slot lock accessories to clamp in and re ders miter gauges useless. Any input on that? The biggest issue I've had is getting a kind of scalloping or vertical indentations. I've tried belts from a couple manufacturers with the same result. Do you have any suggestions on dealing with this?

Have you looked into building a pony tank (idk if that's the technical name for it) for your compressor? I'm a carpenter by trade and we had an underpowered compressor when we were running multiple framing guns. With the pony tank, we were able to run all day without any problems because it turned his 6 gallon compressor into like a 20 gallon system. Idk how much of a difference it would make with painting, but like I said, we ran all day with framing guns with no problem.

Love all your videos, Matt. And your FB group is the nicest on FB. Question about the Ridgid spindle sander. I'm. borrowing one right now while my friend is on vacation. When I use the spindles (any of them) without the biggest washer over them, the paper rides up the spindle. I noticed that. you have a small washer on yours, but that didn't work for me. Have you seen this? Any ideas? It's a new unit that's had very little use so far. I plan on buying one, but not sure if this is a problem. Also, I hear that the parts (sandpaper) are hard to find. True? Thanks. Merry Christmas.
