So cool. I’ve been doing braidlocks since 2009, cut to a short bob, shaved the back rows, and grown them out again and what you say is true: they will be fine. I had some straggly braids and now they are perpetually mature locs. Highly recommend. You are brave bleaching them! My hair is already super porous and I feel like these bad boys will be snapping off! But your hair is fabulous!

I've really missed you on here. Congratulations on 5 years! To think that it's this long even with the inch or so you lost by reattaching. It's beautiful! 😍

Congratulations on your 5 years. You and your hair is absolutely beautiful. You're actually the reason I loc'd my hair. I wanted to dye mines blonde also but had been dying my hair black and am afraid to strip out the black to go blonde.

ahhh the dreaded black or blonde question 🤭🤣 if you can truly strip the black color from your hair, then it may be worthwhile going blonde. but I think you should expect to do this in phases, that may take up to one year honestly. maybe try a brown, then a light brown, before going blonde? I recommend the loreal high lift colors at Sallys. also if you go blonde, it will be very difficult to go back to black again since you would have stripped out all the pigment from your locs. I have pretty much resolved to being blonde 4evaaa because of this. maybe trying a chocolate brown here and there. good luck on your color journey!!

The entire look is beautiful! Question: have you found that your locs feel heavy now that you have more length? Also, are you able to style your hair into a simple ponytail (I'm asking because of the size of your locs, which appear smaller than traditional, but not microlocs...)?

You are very pretty. Is there a reason the locs around the perimeter of your face are so short? Breakage? Trim?

not sure. my loose natural hair has always been shorter in the front/perimeter
