Yep. That was the era when hip hop was shifting to the more commercial sound where cats were rapping about expensive champagne, jewelry, going platinum in sales, and getting money. A lotta cats were dumbing down the lyricism for more dollars. The new cats of that era who stayed true to the art were not getting that push and recognition that they would've gotten had they came out in the late '80s or early half of the '90s. You named some heavy spitters and all of them are only known to the hip hop heads who were about the real back in that era.

I thought the same when I first heard it. You soon realise Punch only has like 5 verses that he uses in every cypher it starts to get real old real fast. Personally I like both on Cons verses and nore the best
