Nibs; The 69a production run was 1937 to 1963. I think, no serial numbers. Probably none made during WW2. In 1954, or there about, 69a's were produced with a swept rearward bolt handle and grooves for scope (the bent handle presumably for scope clearance). There were changes in stock shape, nickel/chrome plated trigger, Smooth or grooved trigger, differences in sights, barrel stamping, and even internal differences….. all these differences can be used to ball-park the age of your gun. Triggers on this gun model are prone to wearing out and almost all replacements would be grooved so triggers might not be useful for dating. Mine is a straight bolt, Long rifle, Long, Short stamping with simple buck-horn rear and post front sights making me believe probably from the 40’s, likely prewar, defiantly before 1954. I have an advertisement from 1957 showing a 69a with peep sights and bent bolt handle.
