HUGE thanks to 5.11 for their support of our film BlackJacks. Our actor, Rich McDonald (Generation Kill), wore them in our film and loved them. ALL of our 5.11 gear fit like gloves and worked like a charm. As a shooter in my private time I can assure you that there will be more 5.11 gear in my range bag and my closet VERY soon. Good review, amigo. Keep 'em coming!

That in fact is the reason I quit wearing jeans a number of years ago. You just could not get your hands into the pockets with anything in them. These pockets are not as snug as most jean pockets simply because of the way the opening is cut. They are as short though. I only wish I had found your reviews before purchasing. I am also testing 5.11 Covert Khaki 2.0 and Tactical Covert Cargo pants and have a pair of Tru-spec 24-7 Classic pants on order. Thanks for your reviews they are helpful.

Great review. The jean cut version looks like another great pant from 5.11. I wear regular Taclite Pro pants for everyday use. In my experience no one even realizes my Taclites are "tactical" pants. I get a lot of compliments how nice they look and even had them described as preppy! Yuck. People just think they are casual dress pants. When I do point out they are tactical most dont know what I'm talking about. Sometimes people think I mean regular old cargo pants with bulky pockets. The jean cut pants are nice, but in my experience I don't really see a need for them.

The Condor Stealth Operator Pants look interesting. I may have to try a pair at some point (not that I exactly 'need' more pants). The 5.11 Covert Khaki's are probably a little more dressy than I need, but they seem like a good solution in that area.

No. The material on the jean cuts really doesn't seem stretchy at all. The pockets being jean styles are much harder to get in and out of, but they do look like more normal pants at least I suppose.

I just got a pair today and it got 30"W by 32"L. I usually wear 32", but that's because I sometimes like a loose fit, 30" fit me perfectly in other pants and it was the same as this one. 30" fit me perfectly.

I have worn EOTAC Discreets for several years. Now they need to be replaced, so I bought a pair of these to try. They have the pockets I need and the D ring I like. Unfortunately for one who carries a Ruger LC9 in his left front pocket each day they are a failure. The pistol will fit in the pocket bearly, but I cannot sit down. Any large object in a front pocket sits right across where the pants must bend for sitting. The pockets have a good sized opening, but are just too short to be useful.

@10rupeejezail Glad you found it helpful. The Taclites are cut pretty generous, although so are the 24/7's. I look forward to your review. I am wearing the 5.11 Tactical Covert Cargo pants today and they are quite comfortable and have plenty of pockets and space, but no D ring. The Covert Khaki will likely be worn to church rather than to work because they look more dressy. I wore them on Tuesday when I had to wear a tie and they worked fine & felt very good. I wear tachs at home and am replacing my EOTACs there as well. Have you tried Condor Tacticals yet? I have a pair on order to try.

I had a pair of the original tac pant & had such a headache with trying to keep them on I finally tossed them in the trash money down the drain-but I've been miserable with most of my tactical gear I've purchased. You have a choice between 32 or 34 one size to way to small & the other way to big-NO I'm not picky I'm not stupid enough to trust my life on clothing that are a tactical disadvantage. Hope you don't mind me asking for advice, 5.11 never reply to emails :( Looking to get pair of 5.11 pants to match the rapid assault shirt for airsof. I had the tactical TDU pant and while well made the legs were too tight and not very easy to move in, the teflon material too heavy; so they went back. Normally need to wear a size bigger so a better fit in the upper legs so not sure what ones to try?
@wyattwolf9

@snareman95 Taclite Pro are the looser fit in your vid, wonder if they are similar size to the Tactical TDU which were bit tight but might try them in larger size waist? Only other gripe are the belt loops, get in the way of my blackhawk dropleg holster. Just want pants to match the 5.11 tdu green rapid assault shirt.

These are fairly thin cut, hence the name jean cut, compared to alot of other pants. These just don't have as many pockets as typical tactical pants depending on if you need that functionality or not.
