hey! welcome back, i hope the move went smooth! this seems like a fantactic wat to defeat locks, this lock having a hard body and spring loaded.... shackle bolts?!?. (i'm not sure of the word for the retainers that hold the shackle in place)... seems like it's easier defeted with a tool like this, if you are going to show more videos using that to defeat locks, i wonder how any locks that have ball bearings for shackle retainment would hold up, and strong bodied locks with ball bearing shackle retainment.... so, something like a master 6835, which has a body that may give way to something, being a relative low grade aluminum, and something like, i think the american 5200, which if i'm correct in my memory is basically a steel bodied 1100 series, also with ball bearings.... either way, and with whatever locks you do this with in the future, i wonder how ball bearing locks stand up to this

Similar concept, but not really the same tool. In the movie, Anton Chigur uses a pneumatic captive bolt pistol. Nothing shoots from a captive bolt pistol. The bolt slides out, but stops at a preset length. That's what makes it a "captive" bolt. A ramset operates more like an actual firearm. A firing pin strikes the primed rim of a smokeless powder cartridge. The expanding gasses push a pistol forward (much like a captive bolt), which pushes a projectile out of the tool at a high velocity. The projectile just happens to be a fastener. But it's basically a piston-drive firearm. I think it'd be fun to use in a marshmallow gun war.
@Asdayasman

I had the Remington equivalent of this when I was a child. I have fond memories of smacking it with another hammer to make it work. A neighbour, who shall remain anonymous, supplied some "level 8's to try". I still have a remnant of the scaring from the spalling of poured-concrete foundation ricocheting in a confined space. Though I think the spalling was probably from my following orders to use the extremely overpowered brown (+silver) loads (I can read the box!) than my father's initial belief that I had somehow loaded rifle bullets into the chamber designed to exclude them. edit: Just looked it up, and according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder-actuated_tool : Grey (L1) in brass is 315 ft/s (96 m/s), Brown (L2) in brass is 385 ft/s (117 m/s), Purple (L6) in brass is 755 ft/s (230 m/s), and Brown (L8?) in nickel(silver) is 935 ft/s (285 m/s).
