We tried so many different methods to remove the Lift Arms and the Lift Arm Shaft. We even bought a 20 Ton Hydraulic press! Eventually we managed it through a combination of hammering, levering, pressing, pulling, heating and a massive amount of persistence! It turns out one of the bushes was deformed - probably when it was installed, which explains why the lift arms were so stiff to start with! Also the shaft was covered in years of dirt, ancient grease and who knows what else!
Oscar did various gymnastic moves, whilst I practiced my hammer throwing! So whilst we struggled, we also prevailed! Follow along to see just how bad it really was.
